Just ordered a copy of Grant Lee-Phillips' new album ''Nineteeneighties", a collection of classic 80's indie anthems from the likes of The Smiths, Joy Division and The Cure done in an alt.country style.

Comments of the Inner Chorus - Tunng.
Weirdy electro-folk act's latest LP, whose output was recently described as Trunktronica. Figure that one out... |

QUOTE (maian @ Jun 27 2006, 12:40 AM) Good choices. 'Freewheelin' is a bit rough around the edges but that is part of it's charm. Blood On The Tracks is an absolute masterpiece. You're absolutely right there. One of the finest albums ever made. In terms of Dylan, I'd also strongly recommend getting ahold of The Bootleg Series which contains rough cuts and unused material, much of which is enjoyable. Sometimes I actually prefer the bootleg to the final cut, such as Tangled Up In Blue, whose acoustic version mops the floor with the Blood on the Tracks cut. Given that that version is wonderful, it gives you an idea of how good he can be when it's just him and his guitar. |

Bought Wolfmother today, rock on! I'm gonna party like it's 1977. It's sooo good.
I went to take Weller's Stanley Road back to HMV today in exchange for this one, I paid the two pounds extra for Wolfmother, but somehow ended up walking out with both of them. |
