QUOTE (Drifter @ Apr 22 2007, 02:52 PM) The Daleks needed subservient labour and this is New Doctor Who, they're not going to have blokes in crash helmets anymore! I liked it, a good story and Daleks doing what Daleks do best - menacingly trundle down corridors - there hasn't been nearly enough of that in the new series. |

Well you could have subserviant without the need to make them look like porkers (keep thinking how much a bacon buttie tasted whenever I saw them) besides I rather prefer their comemoration of The Stig! Daleks couldve done better in my opinion but otherwise I thought it wasnt too shabby an episode but Ive read somewhere what happens next week - an unusual alliance between the Doctor and someone else to stop the cult of Skaro running rampage in New York - easy enough to figure out Edited to add spoiler tags - Raven |

I thought the pig-men were slightly pointless too.
I mean, why pigs? Again? Are they pig mad or something? I don't know. The whole episode just seemed too "busy" to me. Too many new characters, too many little threads, and no sensible explanations as to why any of it was going on. That's why I'm thinking maybe after next week I'll like it better. *shrug* I just think they should have left a bit more room for reasonable character development and plotline. We'll see. |

Can anyone write a Dr Who episode or does it just seem that way?

I thought the reason for the pig-men was that they were the Daleks initial experiments into genetic splicing. That they made a useful slave-race was beside the point.

Finally got round to seeing the latest one.
Is it me or were the Daleks a lot noisier than they used to be? I don't remember all the whirring with every movement before. |

They've been like that through out the new series - there's usually bombastic music playing over them though so it was more noticeable on Saturday. |
