Reeves and Mortimer were gods! they trailblazed the new random surreal comedy style that no one has come close to matching.

and yes, i often find that the efforts of Reeves and Mortimer are lost on some people. it is their loss. perhaps they'd prefer to watch "the worst week of my life".... i hope they burn in hell.

Does anyone know if The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer is on the way to DVD. My VHS of series 2 got nicked so I haven't seen it for years.
Got Vic Reeves Big Night Out on DVD. Has anyone else got it? My disk 1 doesnt work very well which is a nice irritation.

Cottage cheese is the only cheese garanteed to please.

Despite there being no sight of it, I'd say there's a good chance of it all being released on DVD fairly soon. Especially if Big Night Out has done well. I'm sure you could still find the VHS boxes if you wanted your series 2 back.

Anywho, they are brilliant, but Catterick was a bit...weird..like they were trying to do a Royston Vasey alternate-world.

Having said that, a moment of genius was the cheap bullet time effect in the garden centre!

Certain people on this forum (me!) have been moaning about the lack of Smell o ｆＲｅｅｖｅｓ　anｄ Ｍｏｒｔｉｍｅｒ on DVD for years. Catterick wasnt that great but had some brilliant moments such as the swan on the wheelchair and Matt Lucas doing the age old pull my finger

I loved Reeves & Mortimer from seeing Big Night Out when it first run. I remember at the time the NME gave it a scathing review until they realised it was brilliant.

'The Smell....' is my favourite incarnation due to Mulligan & O'Hare and Slade In Residence. Both inspired.

The interesting thing is you can watch their stuff from 10 years ago, and it really hasn't dated, it's still as funny as it was then.
I was scared that wouldn't be the case when I got the Big Night Out dvd.

They influenced practically everyone I like now too!

Big Night Out is still my favourite series of theirs even after all these years. Graham Lister, The Man With The Stick, Morrissey The Consumer Monkey, The Ponderers, Tinker's Rucksack, The Stotts, Novelty Island, Vic's newsagent mate of Lister's, Judge Nutmeg, Rick Astley, the list goes on. You just can't beat it.

Every time I hear the names Caprice or Paul McKenna I hear them said in the Stotts lovely little voices from when they were guests.

I still love watching Shooting Stars even if I've seen ones with Steven Tomkinson's Droopy impression or the one where they look in Ulrika's hair and see a pig(!)

I still have an abiding hate of Mark LeMarr who obviously was playing the smug arrogant bastard (...or was he...?). Seeing him then on Never Mind..

I still scoff at his ability to be as engaging or funny.. mainly just slags off the guests in an admittedly (sometimes) amusing way. It's Bill Bailey whose utter hopelesssness at answering the questions is hilarious
