School of Comedy took about two minutes, including trailer, to make me want to kill things.

Just watched the first episode of Him and Her and I thought it was really good. Not laugh out loud funny but very well observed in places.

I dunno', I didn't like it. It was very BBC 3 in it's humour.
Yes, I know what I sound like, but if I want to watch an annoying couple I'll break into their house and hide in the cupboard. |

I was surprised to see that it was written by one of The Cowards. I still find enough in the two episodes I've seen to enjoy it. |

I thought it was very Stefan Golaszewski-esque in tone, maybe just because he and Russell Tovey sound a bit similar. If you've ever heard his music with The Popsocks, there are similarities there toom thematically. |

i don't think it has the courage of its convictions. Aren't they supposed to be a slightly shlumfy failure couple? Why is she so well dressed and good looking then? It's like the producers decided they couldn't risk not having an attractive women fronting the show. It's like American Spaced again except done by the BBC.

Even though it would have been completely out of character for him, I really wanted Simon to punch Clive in the last episode of Grandma's House. The catharsis after six episodes of disdain would have been terrific. However, Simon's shellshock afterwards was very funny.
This Is England '86 goes from strength to strength. I thought the second episode kept the humour of the first but brought the darker themes and ideas in with real subtlety and grace. I'm really excited to see what happens when Combo returns. |

It does look pretty awesome.
Any word on when it'll transmit over here? The 'international' bit of the wiki page is blank and IMDB gives me nothing. |

Just watched the first episode of Him and Her and I thought it was really good. Not laugh out loud funny but very well observed in places. I felt it was a bit like 3 Pints but with less of post-pub angle. Couldn't get into it. This Is England '86 Absolutely loving it. Achingly heartbreaking and just exceptionally well written. Laugh out loud funny. |

I don't think too much of Him and Her, but to me it's not shit enough to hate. Kind of harmless really with a bit of rudeness. And I thought last weeks one was better than the first.
Apparently it gets better later in the series so I'll stick with it. Yet to see Ep two of This Is England '86, I think I'll watch that before Inbetweeners later. This post has been edited by Everlong: Sep 20 2010, 12:07 PM |

Huzzah for the return of Celebrity Juice. Keith Lemon is suitably pervy, Holly Willoughby seems to be the lovliest/nicest object of lust on TV, Fern Cotten is bearable only because she's the butt of so many jokes and the permenant addition of Rufus Hound is more than welcome.
