The older discontinued models of PS3 (I think with 60 or 80gig hard drives) had backwards compatability but Sony removed it fairly quickly. Newer models have no backwards comp.

It's the older 60 gig ones that have it. We got one specifically for that reason. There's been talk of a firmware update to introduce backwards compatability but I wouldn't think that would actually happen or work

Well at least all games are region free which is nice. I only have to wait a few weeks (Nov 17th) for the God Of War Collection to be released in the States. Funsies. Thanks for all the tips gents.

Bugger, I was hoping we'd get our freebie Forza 3s today, but apparently not.

Finished Brutal Legend earlier. A little short and a little easy but other than that pure brilliance.

Finished Ace Combat 4 just now. I still have some missions to re-play and get S-ranks on, and some planes to buy. But the campaign is over, and it's on to 5.

I thought that you already had that?
Just re-bought Assassin's Creed after rushing through it all last time. This time around I'm making sure i get all vantage points, help all citizens and get all information before assassinating my target. Did the first assassination last night and totally fluffed it. There was guards and swords all over the place. It has also put me in the mood for re-purchasing Hitman: Blood Money. Bring on Assassins Creed 2! |

I got £30 for a few games so didn't get Brutal Legend, booo. Will wait for Modern Warfare 2 in a couple of weeks and put it towards that, and get Brutal Legend at the end of November.

The intro for Left 4 Dead 2 is awesome. My anticipation for it is really starting to build now.

Civilization Revolution on the iPhone is actually quite enjoyable. Tis a very watered down Civ game but it's not bad.

I thought that you already had that? I did, but I sold practically all my PAL home consoles and games and I'm slowly picking up American NTSC ones used. I don't have a 360, just a PS2 and I'm thinking of moving the Wii upstairs because nobody ever uses it and I can start collecting my old GameCube games. I have Ace Combat 4, Ace Combat 5, LEGO Star Wars II, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, SEGA Superstars Tennis, and Sonic Mega Collection Plus. The MGS's and Sonic games were gifts, and I picked up the rest for about $10 each on average. A 360 can wait a while, and in the meantime I have plenty to be getting on with. I'd love to have the Wii here and be able to play the Resident Evil games again... |

Finished inFamous at the weekend with the good ending. Fantastic storyline with a fantastic ending. I really liked that it actually all got wrapped up for once but still left scope for a sequel without resorting to cliffhangers. Other games should take note.
I have now started on Drakes Fortune (I didn't fancy an FPS so I'm leaving Killzone 2 for now) and I'm enjoying it a lot so far. I have so many games to play now though having picked up Brutal Legend and Resistance 2 for a decent price. So little time, so much fun to be had. |

I'm glad you liked infamous Jimmay, I really enjoyed the storyline forthat as well, I didn't see the twist coming until it was almost revealed anyway. It does have flaws like I mentioned in an earlier post but there is so much to like that they become neglegible. I would ask that they let you upgrade the distance you can glide though; put in a high leap from a standing start (like in Spider Man 2) and throw in a greater enemy variation, even if it's just the way the look.
Uncharted is a damn fine game and the sequel honestly takes it so many notches higher, there's a decent amount of new features and tweaks like actually being able to blindfire, shoot whilst hanging from just about anything, more stealth kills/options,greater choice in how to approach combat situations, better puzzles and no silly sixaxis aiming for grenades.
