or....They didn't just drop her. They had to throw her against the wall numerous times before she broke into segments and they had to keep opening her wrapping and checking then closing it again and coming up with more inventive ways of creating a high-impact collision in order to get to the weird shaped central core which is quite clearly the best bit.

This week's episode was utter toss, but Dexter Fletcher was brilliant with his terrible German accent and cocky sleaziness.

Tonight, of all nights when I wanted to watch something mindless and, possibly, entertaining, I get this. Nonsense. Utter. Yeah, well, what PrincessKate says. Apart from Dexter who was also rubbish. He's better than that.

I watched a bit of it while doing my weights, they appeared to be in a modern day casino... then they were fooled by a hologram...
It was sort of 'Locksley's 11' with Keith Allen as Andy Garcia, in a glam rock waistcoat. |

QUOTE (Zoe @ Oct 15 2007, 12:16 PM) I watched a bit of it while doing my weights, they appeared to be in a modern day casino... then they were fooled by a hologram... It completely made me think of the Maid Marian And Her Merry Men episode, A Game Called John. Except that was meant to be funny. As a series about Robin Hood and his band of men it's falling apart. Thinking about it the show would've probably worked out so much better if it actually wasn't about Robin Hood himself but a bunch of people falling through some kind of time hole and finding themselves in 12th Century England. They instead could've assumed the roles of Robin Hood and the gang until they can find their way back home like a hybrid of Life On Mars and Dungeons And Dragons. Maybe not. |

Double post *clang*
Well fuck me, a decent episode. A very decent episode on Saturday actually. Ok, so Gisborne did a strange Cyberman impression but overall it was well written, well paced, all the characters were utilised, Robin didn't come across as a twat and Little John had more than one line. And the acting was actually pretty good too. If only the first two episodes were written as well as this. My faith is restored. For now. |

I watched a bit of the episode on Saturday because I was babysitting my cousins. I'm always fascinated by the presentation of people from the Middle East as being cleverer and more sophisticated and more moral than the Westerners in popular representations of the crusades. It is, for all intents and purposes, completely innacurate but has endured for a remarkably long time. When I make my thrilling HBO historical epic about the crusades I'm going to be sure to point out that almost everyone involved was a complete arse, none of this "But I can't be a bad person, look, I have an astrolabe!"crap for me.

I saw the end, it was laughably bad. A bad guy can still be a bad guy without actually having to do anything visibly bad, but they just don't pull it off in Robin Hood. All the bits I've seen, it's just posturing and gurning.

Anyone else seen the Robin Hood, Sheriff and Gisborne toys now available in Tesco and Woolworths?
Hilarious. |

Well, it's had its knockers (not just Marian's) and the odd bit here and there that were of a chedder nature - not least the last couple of minutes of the last episode - but the last 45 minutes of the series had a decent all out action sequence that delivered a shocking blow at the end worthy of a series finale.
The first couple of episodes of series 2 were truly dire but it actually managed to pull it back after episode three and I'm glad I stuck with it in the end. Series 3 is likely to be the last installment and after tonight's episode I'll be interested to see where they take the story from here. |

Having caught some of the latter episodes - which didn't seem to be as bad as the earlier ones - I meant to watch the two-parter that ended the series but I was out and therefore missed it.
I guess I'll have to wait for the inevitable repeat . . . |

I saw the last episode of the series and it just reminded me why I never bothered to watch the whole series in the first place.
Utter shite. |
