Today I got a copy of the offical Transformers movie comic which will tie in with the new film. It's not been released, it's good having a boyfriend that works for a bookshop and gets lots of freebies. biggrin.gif

I should be getting the nice tin version for my 21st next week, which will be nice as I've only ever seen the UK version with the crawl and stuff. I've seen what the credits look like for the US version, but not seen it as a film like that.

That clip is awesome, by the way. Shame no transforming in it (as I've heard it has lots of transforming on the fly during chase scenes, so they're running as robots then jumping into vehicle mode then back again and stuff - all sounding very cool).

Roll on July, I say.

Apparently, Howard Stern turned down a cameo in the movie (he would have been heard coming out of Frenzy's boombox mode) because he and his agent didn't want him to be 'Just a voice coming out of a f'n radio'.

Ummm, Howard? You're a DJ. That's what your voice is meant to do.

That clip is superb!

Fun news for me, Andrew Wildman (Transformers comic artist) is dropping in to the office today!

^ News from the man himself - they are including prequel comics in the Transformers DVD once it comes out! Sounds far off, but no doubt it will be with us within three months of release...

Great stuff. biggrin.gif

From what I can tell, and from the people I know who've met him, he's a really nice guy.

Also:

DeSanto hints at Constructicons and Dinobots in TF:2?

Seems so, yeah!

As for the Dinobots, I'm not sure how well they would fit into the new 'realistic' TF world. Why would they change into animal shapes - they certainly wouldn't blend in! An the Constructicons were just an excuse for buying a ton of toys - although even bigger robots doing battle would be quite sweet.

Transformers should get real. Turn into lamps, egg whisks, rabbits etc.

Well, in the comic continuity, the Dinos had been awakened earlier than the other Autobots. I suppose you could always say that they'd arrived on Earth before the Autobots in the movie continuity, hence their alt-modes.

And if you have them, you have to have the Constructicons, they were usually considered to be the opposite numbers of Grimlock and co.
