Three-ish hours of LA Noire so far. My Lord what an excellent game. Looks and sounds amazing, and the gameplay & layout are spot on. Cannot wait to delve deeper, on the traffic desk right now and it's been really interesting even in the early stages. I'm already starting to wonder what discs 2 & 3 hold...

Cheers Llama.

Edit: I meant to ask; I assume you've used The Hut before?

@Hobbes: I looked at the notebook menu systems for ages, they're great. I love when in game user interfaces are that enjoyable to flip throug. Castlevania has a travel book full of awesome art and info on all the weapons you pick up and enemies you face. It's also where you buy your new moves and they all have a hand sketched animation to show you what they look like.

Maybe I'm just sad for really appreciating stuff like that in games, but I do enjoy taking the time to check it all out

New, then it supports Lionhead instead of thieving retailers.

True. I missed my chance to get it from Play, but I'm sure it'll end up being as cheap from somewhere else pretty soon. I shouldn't be buying it before I've finished my exams anyway.

No worries. Yeah, they're run by the same company as Zavvi, never had any problems.

I've used The Hut too and they're fine. Got Marvel Versus Capcom 3 to me on time. Unlike a certain company I'm deeply unimpressed by...

Just finished LA Noire's main story missions...

It was groovily, awesomely, confusingly all wrapped up.

Don't get too attached to Cole though.

How much play time did you get? Did you do many of the dispatch calls?

No man I'm all about exploring every detail in games I love. I've racked up 35(ish) hours of play time on New Vegas and I'm not even close to finishing the main story, just spend lots of time doing as many quests as I can and enjoying everything.

The notebook is a brilliantly simple yet effective method, looks glorious too so no you're not alone in enjoying it so much. Have you also noticed that when you're questioning people and Phelps moves the book around so you can see inside it, the detail on the page is the same as the last page you were looking at in the menu, complete with sketch? Pretty amazing.

I've also spent a lot of time gazing aimlessly at the skyline and the clothes in-game. I got 'The Broderick Suit' DLC as part of Amazon purchase, so thus far I've made sure to alternate suits for every case. Can't be caught wearing the same thing twice, it's just not done.

I got about 17 hours, and that's without any side missions.

I'm going to go back and do them now then on to trying to five star every case.

To be fair, if Play said they'd dispatched it and it hasn't arrived, that's Royal Mail's fault, not Play's.

True but it wasn't dispatched till Tuesday so it's a little from column A, a little from column B. Whatever the case Play wont get any more of my money ever again.

Because it's free...

What annoys me more is Amazon's policy of deliberately not posting your order for several days if you choose free delivery. They deny it, of course, but that's exactly what they do.

I don't think so. More times than not I get it next day when I choose free delivery. It'll dispatch almost immediately, and arrive the next day or the day after.
It's happened to me so often that I don't see the point in paying now.
