Indeed. Just when you think they must run out of ideas for subjects, they go and show you tame eels cleaning a human drinking water pool.

Indeed. Astonishing how they make the water eely clean.

Ayethangyou!

Loving the Human story thing too with the lovely Dr Alice Roberts

This is also very interesting, although she does seem to beat about the bush a little to get to the point. I reckon the shows could probably be about half as long with the same amount of info.

I thought the waves from underneath, in the first episode last week, were pretty spectacular.

"Hi, I'm Doctor Alice Roberts, and I'm going to dis your life's work on television Mr. Aged Chinese Man!"

The waves were really quite awesome.

Old Chinese guy, however, probably deserved it. It was quite inconvenient for him that the majority of his supporting 'evidence' was 'lost' during WWII. Maybe I'm a cynic.

She is one of the new breed of documentary presenters. Their programmes are more about their emotional experience of things; reactions rather than facts, rather like the change in news presentation which Charlie Brooker talked about in Newswipe. What's wrong with presenting facts and letting the wonder of the world impress us? No, instead she has to stand in a hole and smile at the camera.

That said, I will continue watching the show. Human evolution and anthropology are the most fascinating subjects.

^ I was waiting for that from someone.

I watched the second half of the Asia one at lunchtime. Interesty stuff. Made me think again that I should really get round to finishing Guns, Germs and Steel.

I just watched the first episode of South Pacific on my lunchbreak and it was pretty spectacular. The sharks taking the albatross chicks were particularly spectacular. What programme are you on about with that Doctor woman then as that sounds interesting as well?

He and Alex Horne carried the show.

I feel a bit bad criticising Mark Watson again because I'm sure he's a nice chap, but even the chair was funnier. He also seems to have a little trouble talking. And walking. His head seems to start walking a split seconds before his legs do.

Has anyone seen the new quiz show Divided? Should realy be called Stubborn Fuckers.

I was intrigued so I recorded it and as a result I missed the first 5 minutes of Conchords so it had better be good!

The doc about homosexuality within the Afro-Carribean community fronted by Stephen K Amos is on.
Pretty horrible subject matter, (in particular, the views perpetuated by young people which seem to have no basis in anything other than thinking all gay men are going to ninja-bum them) but when the guy comes out to his mum and she's ok with it, makes me teary.

My friend at Uni was gay and Nigerian. He had a terrible time with his family. But that's just families for you.
