He is, but I'm meaning 'definitive' in the way that it's always going to be diffcult to bring that quality to the screen; Heath Ledger appears at first glance to have captured most of the character elements in a way that previous actors may not have been able to. |

Just seeing those snippets of Ledger as The Joker, again makes me feel sad that he's gone.
 It really does seem that he totally nailed that part.  I'm looking forward to this Batman movie more than any previous one (I didn't realise how good Batman Begins would be until I saw it).  Feel the love. dolfyn.

I don't know if this trailer has been posted yet, but the Joker has more lines in this trailer than any one that I have seen.
I think Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker is the main reason I want to see this movie, especially after seeing this trailer. Dark Knight trailer |
