Hot Fuzz Nomination - National Movie Awards, Place your vote by 2nd September Options

Hot Fuzz has been nominated to win the best comedy award at the National Movie Awards, due to be aired on ITV1 on 29th September.

Hot Fuzz is up against Borat, Mr Bean's Holiday and Night At The Museum.

Votes need to be in by 2nd September, and can be made at the National Movie Award website. You also have a chance to win tickets to the award ceremony after you have voted. So get voting now good people!

It will take place at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre and a limited number of tickets will be on sale from 21st August 2007 from the box office on 0871 663 2538.

The thing I don't get about the nominations is that in the TV version you can initially vote for a wide variety of people and shows and then you vote for the winner out of the top 5 in each catagory. With this you're not given much of a choice, and how the bloody hell are Simon and Nick not up for best actor?

But you can skip categories if you want to. There's a 'skip' button next to the category number tab on each page.

I can see Hot Fuzz winning some awards, but not the actors (unless it is comedy specific award ceremony).

I should've said about there being no supporting actor category for Nick to appear in, but you catch my drift.

I don't see why there should be a distinction between an actor playing a dramatic role to one in a more comedic role. They're still acting and so should be nominated together. Especially as Simon is one of those few actors who can seemlessly blur the lines of comedy and drama with a simple turn of expression. Some actors do drama well but not so well at comedy while some are better at comedy but poor at doing something more dramatic. Simon is of the rare breed that can do both. He deserves a nomination at the very least.
