"Joss Whedon is staking his claim to another female superhero. Warner Bros. is on the verge of lassoing the Buffy the Vampire Slayer mastermind to write and direct the studio's long-gestating Wonder Woman feature film, TV Guide Online has learned. The almost-done deal comes just two months after Whedon announced that he was getting out of the TV biz to focus on making movies, beginning with his forthcoming Firefly flick, Serenity. Meanwhile, there's no word on who Whedon may tap to fill Lynda Carter's satin tights, but I'm going to go out on a limb and throw Sarah Michelle Gellar's name into the mix. (Yes, this is how rumors get started, folks.)"
I personally would love to see Joss get his hands on Wonder Woman (tee hee). Who better than the creator of the ultimate post modern ass kicking female to helm a big screen Wonder Woman. Agree? |

I don't have any problems with Weldon doing Wonder Woman at all - should be well written and funny to boot, but I don't see SMG being Wonder Woman material myself . . .
Eliza Dushku however . . .

Ooh, how exciting! Joss is a great choice for this and he needs a good project after the lossof Angel, Buffy and Firefly.
Although I'm not too hot on SMG as Womder Woman eitehr, the scrawny little madam. Wonder Woman had booty. Whoever plays her this time had better have a little something going on back there. Er... I'm sorry, I appear to have turned into an American. Normal service will be resumed shortly. |

I think SMG was a little more than speculation on the part of the website. I'd quite like Rachel Bilson to get a go after how great she looked in the costume on 'The O.C.'

I agree. Joss Whedon is a good choice and, although I don't normally watch it, I happened to see that Wonderwoman episode of the O.C. and she did look amazing.
