Sorry (as much for that picture).  My mum came down from Bristol and I cooked her dinner and she stayed till half 9, it would have been rude to ignore her.  Today is Tuesday, and I'm in tonight, give me a time and I'll bagsy the telly - as it were.

Fair play man, I could hardly begrudge you that. Not 100% sure I'll be online tonight, but I'll probably end up on there at the request of my brother and his mates for a little while at least.

Not true. You can connect with a USB modem as long as you connect through your PC, which means having your PC switched on whenever you're on live. Just enable internet connection sharing in windows (look it up in windows help) then stick your ethernet cable in the network card of your pc and connect it to your 360. Worked for me anyway. But that's pretty much a temporary solution until you get a proper ethernet modem/router. It's a pain in the arse otherwise.

Whenever a game loads on the 360, like going into matchmaking, my pc slows right down, which is irritating as I use it as a jukebox while I'm on Halo. The music distorts and sounds awful whenever it happens.

You do have a 'broadband' connection, but it isn't always on. If you buy an ethernet modem/router than you'll be able to have an always on broadband connection that you can share to multiple devices. You won't need the PC on to play on live and the shouldn't affect each others performance (except maybe connection speeds if you're using both at the same time...?). They don't cost that much are fairly simple to configure, just tell it your log on details and then its done. You could get a wireless one as well, in case you need that in future. Seen them online for about £20.

Just a thought but have you tried bringing up task manager and setting whatever player you are using to 'Above Normal' priority? I do that if my music/video begins to struggle, seems to work.

Argh, I probably won't be on Live tonight now. I've been roped into going out for a meal with some of my girlfriends friends instead. If I do get on, I may see you on there, but I doubt it. And tomorrow I won't get the chance to either,... thursday? Maybe, although I have a job interview on thursday so I may be dorwning sorrows instead.

Coolio, I am quite useless at arranging times to meet online, as I'm subject to the whims of she who must be obeyed. Washing up has ruined many a planned evening of gaming

My PC doesnt have an ethernet connection at the back. It has a connection to put the phone line in directly (why would I do that) so I currently have my broadband through one of the USB slots.

Which was annoying when my dad bought a wireless setup Router and whatnot as it required Ethernet connection to work and when I looked online for an Ethernet>>>USB adaptor it specifically stated it wouldnt work with the model we had.

Which was annoying.

Er, ok, so the phone cable is a dial up 56k modem connection *stifles laugh* As for the wireless router, you could... borrow another pc (laptop would be easiest) with a NIC and set up the router, buy a wireless dongle and voila, there's your internet connection.

Quite, yes, of course, that would be quite easy too. But not wireless, eh?

And yes my PC is the major major suck. I was so confuddled at the lack of an Ethernet port.

I have an Xbox 360 now, it's rather nice...

I should hopefully be getting Xbox Live by the end of the year as well, and a Wii for my birthday so this is a good year for gaming.
