Empire Online reports of a new rom-com starring Simon Pegg and directed by David Schwimmer:
QUOTE Run, Fat Boy, Run tells the tale of a charming yet unsatisfied man who leaves his fiancée standing at the altar, only to realise his terrible mistake years after the event. He enters a marathon in the hopes of winning the woman he loves back, but faces a roadblock in the form of her sexy, rich new fiancé. Gold Circle films is producing the film, which starts shooting in the UK next month. Looks like it has lots of rom-com potential. Full article nyah! |

Sounds good to me! Another short article here.
Do you reckon he's gonna have to put weight back on to film the wedding/pre marathon scenes?! |

Ain't it Cool was suggesting that it'd be a fat suit sorta thing, but I think they've got the wrong end of the stick. It doesn't sound at all like its an obese man, probably just someone with a bit of a belly. |

QUOTE Do you reckon he's gonna have to put weight back on to film the wedding/pre marathon scenes?! I was kind of hoping he would anyway; he looks better with a little meat on his bones. And I'm shocked at how few of the articles are mentioning the fact that Michael Ian Black (Stella, The State, Wet Hot American Summer, etc.) wrote it. That's hugely in its favor... |

Ehhhhh I dunno about this. Now if it was our boy Nick Frost up for the role that'd make a bit more sense.

Well Michael Ian Black starred in "The Baxter" with the rest of the Stella crew. That was also about leaving people at the altar...but thats about the extent of similarities.

Actually it was Michael Showalter who was the star and writer of the baxter, michael ian black just played one of his friends although they were both in stella and the state and are both extremely talented.

IMDb has Thandie Newton in this, presumably as the female lead:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0425413/ Unconfirmed, but would be grand if it's true. |

She is involved - she called in to the Virgin Radio Breakfast Show this morning and said she was working on the film with Simon.

For all you Pegg-o-phile freaks out there, they're filming on the South Bank at the moment, or at least the signs I saw along there yesterday seemed to indicate so.
