He'll have fun in the sequel. The Stan Lee cameo was a highlight, his best so far perhaps? I swear Favreau only put himself on screen to show off his new (old) physique... I wonder if he picked his own wig? Terrence Howard's not in the sequel; they've replaced him with Don Cheadle. I'd forgotten his cameo! I laughed very, very loudly in the cinema then missed a few minutes as I had to explain to my sister why it was funny. |

Spiderman - It has it's strongest moments when Dafoe is on the screen. He's surely one of the most underrated comic movie villains ever. And the rest of the movie is fun too.
Had a little Halloween double bill consisting of: Shaun of the Dead - It's a funny little movie. If you never heard of it. Go and check it out. 28 Days Later - The best pseudo arthouse horror flic ever. My Lady and I got pissed on absinth while we watched them. After she slept in I watched the whole first series of Black Books and kept half the house awake with my screaming laughter. It was really a fun Helloween without any dresing up involved. |

Saw V
Meh, the worst out of the 5 films, this was more like a re-cap over all the other 4 films, while they find a crappy way to make sure they can keep making more and more Saw films. Lets hope the 6th film is a lot better. |

Klaus - Der Erste Arbeitstag
Shown as part of a deathly boring health and safety course today and, by far and away, the highlight. Anyone who says German's don't have a sense of humour should hunt this down and watch it. It is meant as a H&S training film, only it's been directed by Edgar Wright and George Romero. We follow Klaus on his first day as a forklift driver in a Warehouse; chaos ensues culminating in a man being split in two by a runaway chainsaw (severed arm still attached). The man had no legs as pervious he had been cut in two by a falling piece of sheet metal. Mental, funny, gory and ace. I shall try and hunt down a link on the web...Brap! You should, danman. It's excellent even though the screen i saw it on was rather small - it's meant to be seen on a bigger scale. Sefi speaks the truth. I saw it on a tiny little screen on the plane. It's beautifully shot. Sort of looks what I imagine a world created by Italo Calvino would look like. |

I saw Quantum Of Solace today. ... excellent stuff. 8/10. It seemed a great deal shorter than Casino Royale, though maybe that just means I enjoyed it more.

Enron: The Smartest Guys In The Room (2005)
Alternately entertaining and enraging, Alex Gibney's documentary is a riveting dissection of the collapse of energy giant Enron and, by association, a damning attack on the macho culture it helped nurture and the policy of deregulation that helped to foster it. Taking in the more obvious financial fraud, as well as the manipulation of energy reserves to exploit and worsen the rolling black outs that hit California in 2000/2001, Peter Coyote's arch narration and the variety of talking heads skewer the main players and reveal how not only corruption but a jaw-dropping degree of stupidity on the part of the regulators allowed for one of the largest companies in America to lie and steal for years and years whilst it was crumbling from the inside. An accurate and angering film that has sadly proven to be rather prescient. |

Cherry Falls
Alright enough and the best of the Scream clones that I've seen. Apparently it was severely cut to get an R rating taking a lot of the bite out of the ridiculously over the top finale. Enron: The Smartest Guys In The Room (2005) I saw that last year, some of the things that went on were unbelievable. |
