If it's been broadcast in the States then it's alright.

I loved all the "celebrities" this week. I think that Tom Cruise might have been my favourite, that or the least convincing Woody Allen substitute since Kenneth Branagh.
Did anyone else think it was weird that they had clearly swapped this episode and the last one in the running order? The way that everyone was saying hi to each other at the start clearly indicated that this was meant to be the first episode back, and it felt like a much truer - and funnier - representation of the show than the last one. |

The last one definitely felt like an anomaly. This week's was back to it's usual excellence. |

I didn't think that last week's was bad, but it seemed like a weird choice of episode to act as a reintroduction for the show and as a way of getting new viewers on board. Apparently there is evidence that people are more willing to watch a random episode of a show if there is a wedding, so I guess that was probably why they went for it, but I really think that this one felt like a more obvious gateway episode. Maybe the Dreamatorium stuff at the end made them think otherwise, since that was probably as out there as the show has ever been.

I think last week's would have been more accessible to casual viewers, Dean Pelton's surprise orgasm may have been too much for somebody tuning in for the first time.

That's true. Maybe I've become innoculated to the weirdness by this point, so stuff like that seems perfectly normal.

I have to agree with all of that, except for the fact that, if you want more viewers, TAKE WINGER'S SHIRT OFF.
That is all. |

After this week's display, next week's episode should be bigger than two Superbowls and the last episode of MASH combined.
