Yeah they definately mentioned Fist Full of Fingers during the Q & A but I think that was part of a different conversation - not the one about what was going on the DVD

There's something that we are hoping Edgar & Simon are going to include in the extras on the DVD release - can't really go into details about it, but it made us laugh...

QUOTE (AusChick @ Mar 19 2007, 05:39 PM) Yes. And the cheapest ones are going for between $400-500 USD right now. Also, you're going to need a high-definition television. Basically, the HD-DVD -- like the BluRay Disc -- is like a DVD, except with much greater data capacity. That greater data capacity allows for the film to be encoded at a much higher resolution, with space left over for an audio track with less compression and more channels than can typically fit on a standard DVD. The DVD standard is based on a resolution of 720x480, or something like that. The only number which is really important is the 480, which is the number of horizontal lines that make up the picture. HD-DVD can support up to 1080 lines of horizontal image data, so, because the resolution is more than twice that of a standard DVD, it's that much crisper. If you look at a good high-definition television broadcast, with little compression, you'll notice that programmes transmitted in the 1080i (the i stands for interlaced) resolution are so clear they're at times beyond photorealistic. It's the next-best thing to actually being there. |

Ooh I'm so curious now about what it is!!
Yeah my bf reckons you'd have to have a HD TV as well. We are soooo not getting a new tv. Bf's already been trying to tell me tonight that we need to get some kind of recordable DVD thing or something. I forget. Anyway - More Expensive Gadgets is what it all boils down to! Hmmph. |
