It's a showdown between 80/90's Metal funksters
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS They took drugs, one died, they stopped taking drugs, they got tattoos and wore socks on their cocks. Oh and they made some records. Got less funkier with each album FAITH NO MORE They took drugs, they changed singer, they covered Lionel Richie (not in anything nasty) and they put balls of shit in hotel room hair dryers. Oh and they made some records. Got less funkier with each album |

Chili Peppers are my all time favourite band. They have released some right shit, but I love them nonetheless. They were the band that got me into 'rock' and lured me away from all the crap I was listening to beforehand. And for that I am eternally grateful.
I've seen them live 3 times and met their drummer, Chad Smith, when I was 15. |

No contest for me.
RHCP though decent enough to begin with have become a terrible, terrible band. I cannot stand them. Faith No More still remain one of the most influential rock bands of a generation. Though some of what they have influenced is not to my taste it has to be said. This post has been edited by Rua: Jan 9 2007, 11:11 AM |

Never been much of a fan of either, but a recent exposure to the Faith No More greatest hits album has swung my vote in their favor. RHCP sing the same song over and over, FNM have a varied and distinct style. FNM win.

Thank you kindly sir, though I am quite partial to Hefty Fine. It took a few listens for it to grow on me, but eventually something clicked and I liked it. Took 'em waaaaaay too long to release it though.

Well, Faith No More are my favourite band of all time, so that's who I'm voting for. I maintain that Angel Dust is one of the finest albums ever made and that it's criminal how overlooked they are sometimes.

Hed Rot Pilli Cheppers. I'm not a fanatical fan, as they are somewhat patchy but I really like the majority of their material from the last 12 years, and that's about it.
What little I have heard of Faith No More has given me no incentive to indulge further, not my cup of tea at all. This post has been edited by Ade: Jan 9 2007, 01:08 PM |

Though I own more Red Hot Chili Pepper albums, I'm voting for Faith No More since I think they are much more fun to listen to. May need to invest in a bit more of their stuff once the loan comes through.

I'm not keen on either. Although i must admit to not hearing much Faith No More, what I have has left me a little cold. I've always found RHCP dull, and each record seems to be duller.

I can't believe this poll's even serious! Faith No More changed the face of metal and paved the way for Nu Metal (not necessarily a good thing but it shows how influential they were). RHCP wore socks on their cocks and write songs about nonsense and heroin. Yawn.
I fucking love Faith No More. |

No Contest - Fath No More. Introduce Yourself and Angel dust still get listened to regularly and Ricochet is one of my favourite songs full stop. They also blew my teenaged mind away when I saw them on the Angel Dust tour. I listened to RHCP during the Blood Sugar Sex Magik era, but stopped listen to it and Mother's Milk whithin a year or two and nothing I've heard them do since makes me want to change my mind. Anthony Kiedis has and incredibly annoying voice as well.

I saw RHCP at Big Day Out on Glasgow Green a few years back and I vomited throughout the entire (overly long) set. In all honesty it was probably due to sunstroke rather than their music, but I don't think they helped much. Flea's fucking trumpet playing at the end made me particularly angry - I could have been on the M8 heading home!
Therefore I vote for Faith No More purely on the basis that they have never made me throw up. For an hour. Yet. |

A) I don't really know Faith No More.
B) I quite like the Red Hot Chili Peppers anyway. Therefore I'm going with RHCP. Some of their records are really cool. |
