So then...a Spaced Christmas Special?
Now, most comedy Christmas specials are godawful, except Father Ted of course. And the second one of The Office (the first was a bit weak). But what would the plot for a Spaced Christmas Special be like? Would you ever want to see one at all - just a one-off festive edition? |

Nahhh, even as a shipper I'll admit they shouldn't utterly deflate the sexual tension in a Christmas special.
There should, however, be a momentarily chaste then awkwardly horny misteltoe-induced Bisley/Steiner kiss. With tongue. And the return of Vulva. "Christmas PUUUUUUUDDINGGGG!" |

Well seeing as it has been 4 years since the last episode, This is what I would like to see, Tim and Daisy got married, had "Luke", but things went horribly wrong after (Infedelity, they were better friends than lovers, I have not decieded yet) right now they are in a middle of a divorce and are forced together during the holidays because of grandparent issues who still think they are together. then hilarity ensues. It might work but feel free to flame it.

I prefer the idea that they 'were better friends than lovers' than the thought of infidelity, though Daisy is a bit renowned for it in Series 1, but then again her boyfriend was miles away not living in the same house. I'd still hate to see them get together though, it's just not the resolution I would want.
I think it should follow Mike and Brian getting lost and having to find their way home, and Mike learning the truth about Santa. Considering his belief in his rabbit being alive, I think a belief in Santa would be in keeping with his character. |

That should be the sub-plot. make it an hour long show. We could cut between the two plotlines Tim and Daisy's Plight could run right along side Mike's Dilemma. I think this could work. other things that could happen is that Twist could actually be working in fashion (not at the cleaners) Mike is still in the TA and still a Seargent, and very involved with Marsha Klein. Brian still a struggling artist and almost being evicted from his flat (because he cant give "Special Services" to Mrs Klein seeing as her and Mike are MADLY in love with each other) is forced to join the TA in an effort to get make rent and is now one of Mike's Subordants, (This is how they become lost trying to find their way home) yes...no.... maybe.....

But I think the point line should be in the last sequenze, that there is a hush on top of the house, we hear "HoHoHo" and bells jingling, so that it is in our p/o view, if there is a Säntä or not. I think the families of the characters should meet at a huge christmas dinner in the House in Meteor Street. Maybe some more "Oregano"-action. Maybe a drunk/oreganoed re-union of Marsha and Brian. This Power Puff Girls-fancying girl should come back from marvel. And Tim has to decide between her and Daisy. And Duane should get a sub-plot. I think we need a 90 min. show. But it will definitly work! |

I think an 'It's a wonderful life' or 'Christmas Carol' take would be very nice (and right up Edgars street too for the flashback type scenarios)

Tim mentioned he had a sister didn't he? What if she came down and had some sort of a thing for Duane. Then what would Tim do when Duane is invited over for Christmas? I think she would also give Tim Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace unaware of how he feels about. Tim would then use it for other uses, like a book end and not watch it or perhaps he would give it to someone else. I also think we should get another glimpse of Amber and she spends Christmas with Marsha yet could fall for Mike.
The idea of Tim and Daisy finally kissing with the misletoe thing (good thought thirtyhelens) but the idea he has to choose between Sophie and Daisy is just as good. Prepare for a happy-walk. |

No ideas for a plot line or anything, but I think at the end, just as Tim seems to have lost all faith in everything great and good about christmas, there should be a huge white light, as he looks up and says "he is real!"
but instead of Santa Claus descending from the light, down comes Ewan Macgregor as Obi Wan Kenobi, who tells Tim that the force will be with him, always. |

Let your imagination run riot...
It usually does. *thinks* Christmas *pauses* Special? *rolls eyes* I suppose it would need to be based around a Summer Holiday to Christmas Island. Perhaps a comic book hero convention? Or a let's get dressed up and do really real really outrageous things. Perhaps a bicycle ride through the weird world of geek-dom. With some Mike action involving an unused nuclear device? *looks strangely to one side in a Simon Pegg way* FUCK YEAH! Brian Brane putting the 'F' back into Christmas. ** * Yes. I am taking the piss. ** The next cunt who says there's no 'F' in Christmas will recieve a years supply of imaginary friends. This post has been edited by brianbrane: Jan 4 2006, 06:28 PM |

I think that any return to the Spaced world would have Tim and Dasiy in pretty much exactly the same situation as they were in at the end of Series 2. Daisy's general inability to get work done will mean that she is still on the dole, although she will have drifted from job to job, and Tim will still work in Fantasy Bazaar because he likes working there, despite his success as a graphic artsist, he will remain in the same sort of stupor as he was during his twenties. Everyone else, however, will have moved on; Brian will be a successful artist, Mike will be working his way up the chain of command in the territorials, and Marsha will have died, creating a need for the characters to reconvene again and for Tim and Daisy to seriously consider what they were doing with their lives as a new landlord/lady takes over.
