![]() After such memorable quotes as "I'm not gonna abandon England for something like, I don't know...Mission Impossible 3", Simon Pegg has signed up for a role in the latest Mission Impossible film. News is that he is playing a goodie but that's really all we know so far but it looks like it's going to be good. Spaced-Out will keep you informed as soon as we know more. |

QUOTE (Downsy @ Oct 11 2005, 02:23 PM) After such memorable quotes as "I'm not gonna abandon England for something like, I don't know...Mission Impossible 3" Did he really say that?! Oh, man. NAILED. Still exciting, though. And still the deal-sealer for me. Ta, Jaybrams! (Now if only Keri Russell can manage to kick ass and not be upstaged by her pre-Raphaelite tresses. Though I think I saw a pic of her w/ straight hair, so that's a good sign...) This post has been edited by thirtyhelens: Oct 11 2005, 10:48 PM |

Should be interesting. I just keep imagining him as a snivelling baddie type after his stint on Dr Who.

Just as long as he doesn't get to be the nerdy tech guy. Or maybe that wouldn't be so bad.

I think Simon & Edgar could have a Cruise fixation.
I reckon they'll kill him off in no time. Perhaps something like this... The film opens with Cruise having just received his orders by way of a large Betamax video recorder. He's informed the tape will self destruct, so ejects and tosses it casually over his shoulder. Cut to Simon driving past in his convertible - top down, Burt Bacharach on the stereo. His happiness is somewhat halted by the sight of a video cassette flying through the air and landing on his lap. BOOOOOM!!! - Cue the music, cue the titles, cue Pegg's body parts flying off in all directions. Perhaps they can get Abrahams & Zucker to direct ? |

Actor Pegg 'signs for Mission 3' - from the BBC's news web site.
Odd that they have a picture of Tom Cruise rather than a picture of Simon. |

Hi, I'm a complete newbie here but I wanted to add that I'd rather SP contributed a certain flavour to the script as opposed to getting killed off too quickly! Let's hope they're not messing with the MI:2 formula too much though...?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. ETHAN HUNT'S FLAT - DAY ETHAN is reclining on a beanbag, rolling a reefer whilst watching The Caves of Androzani on DVD, with commentary by Matthew Waterhouse and Gerald Flood blaring in the background. We whip-pan to him sitting there but this time playing 'Devil May Cry 3' on the PS2. Suddenly the music of the soundtrack changes to what sounds like the theme to a 70s Czech porn film. ETHAN (VOICEOVER): Oh, hello, I'm Ethan Hunt. I'm a spy but not even my best mates know that. I put them off the scent by telling them that my job is features writer for Horror Film Monthly. I do feel bad deceiving my friends, 'cos they're all close to my heart, especially this man... Cut to dutch of a STOCKY, STUBBLED SLOB asleep on the sofa, porn mags scattered around him. ETHAN: This is Nick, my best mate and self-proclaimed fat munter. At the moment, he's sleeping on the sofa in my flat, located in Highgate Village about halfway between The Flask and Cafe Rouge. He's a chef in a Tex-Mex restaurant in Muswell Hill and does the best impression of Joey Deacon rolling a fatty that I've ever seen. He's got an obsession with porn and video games, but I reckon that one day he'll come in pretty handy in a fight against international espionage. Whip-pan to a shot of Scarlett Johansson falling over whilst trying on a top in a Kookai changing room. ETHAN: This is my flatmate and double-agent Quacky Feingold. She's a bit insane but I love her really, the bumbling old slapper... etc. etc. |

I'd green-light that sumbitch for "Quacky Feingold" alone.
Welcome, BTW! |
