From ones I've heard, Elbow is far and away the best album. James Blake will win it though.

King Creosote and Jon Hopkins - Diamond Mine I've been hearing many good things about the King Creosote/Jon Hopkins LP, might need to check that out. Yes, it is very good - the perfect combination of lush electronica courtesy of Hopkins, and introspective folk from Creosote. http://soundcloud.com/dominorecordco/sets/...ote-jon-hopkins |

I can report that the Everything Everything album is great. The only other one I've heard is Elbow, which is also great (obviously) I've been hearing many good things about the King Creosote/Jon Hopkins LP, might need to check that out. I almost bought the Everything Everything album for a mere £3 in HMV the other week. Might well have to follow up on that... Yes, it is very good - the perfect combination of lush electronica courtesy of Hopkins, and introspective folk from Creosote. http://soundcloud.com/dominorecordco/sets/...ote-jon-hopkins Sounds a marvellous combo. I rather like King Creosote, and I'm already keen on Hopkins' work too - I shall have to make investimagations. |

As far as I'm aware, I haven't heard anything by Everything Everything, so all I think about when I hear their name is a joke that Jim Bob out of Carter USM said on Twitter to the effect of: "Strange that Everything Everything sound like Everyone Everyone."

Yeah I picked it up for £4 online on a whim as I had some singles from iTunes free downloads which I liked a lot. They're not going to change the face of music or anything but they've got some damn fine tunes. |

'Muppets Show Theme' music video unveiled by OK Go.
Different, but anything featuring Statler and Waldorf gets my vote. |

Cheers guys, you were amongst the very best. I hope my friend Jo isn't crying too hard tonight. |

Yep, they were one of the all time greats. Even though I'm not terribly fussed about their post-Bill Berry stuff (I like it fine, but I don't listen to it as much as the other stuff) that run from Murmur to New Adventures Hi-Fi is pretty stunning.

Ten years too late, as far as I'm concerned. They did some good stuff, but not so much recently - it got to a point where new REM albums were less of an event and more of inevitable occurance. See ya hippies. |

I enjoyed their two recent albums. More consistent than most of the stuff before it. Having said that, I can't remember what they were called, so they can't have been all that memorable.
Edit: Accelerate and Collapse Into Now. Terrible titles, but good albums. This post has been edited by maian: Sep 22 2011, 01:26 PM |

I got to see them live about 3 years ago and they were just astounding. I think it's a real shame that they've split, but they had a very good run.

I can't profess to having been a huge fan, but 'Automatic For The People' has been on regular rotation since I bought it (from the second time on, admittedly - I just didn't take to it during those first few listens). It was a wise second attempt, for 'tis a near faultless album. I also still have a lot of love for 'Reveal' (despite its weaker mid-section). Much of their output since then has been fairly so-so in my opinion. I have yet to hear anything of their pre 'Out Of Time' oeuvre. |
