Had to be Futurama - Simpsons set the bar but Futurama raised it waaaay up. It is classic comedy genius. Zapp Brannigan - the greatest comic character ever? Discuss.

All the characters in Futurama are comedy gold though...it would be so hard to choose my favourite! |

I've never felt compelled to buy any Simpsons dvds. This may be because they're on tv all the time but it wouldn't be too difficult to record all of Futurama and i still felt the need to buy all of those. So, yeah, my vote went to Futurama.

futurama is alot funnier than the simpsons, The simpsons stopped being funny a long while ago. And has been repeated to death on TV.

It's a difficult call. The Simpsons is brilliant but not always consistent, and the first season is so dated now. Futurama managed to keep high quality up for its entire run, and at times the animation was outstanding.
Futurama just shades it for me, mainly because The Simpsons never quite achieved anything as heartbreaking as the "Jurassic Bark" episode. |

I think the Simpsons is still funny and the good episodes/moments more than outweigh the good, and that the more recent efforts show an improvement on some of the episodes from season 9/10 to 12.
I'm tempted to unofficially change my vote to Futurama... |
