QUOTE (maian @ Aug 9 2007, 09:41 AM) Have you heard their third album? They leapt over the Wanker threshold long before Bellamy started dressing like a Dungeons and Dragons character. You mean the "lost" Depeche Mode album. Which was backed by the "rejected" Depeche Mode stage show. Still, better than their "wannabe" Suede period. |

Can I gather Ed, because your mind didn't leap immediately to it, that you don't listen to the 5 Live Kermode podcast? You should, he's brilliant.

I do occasionally catch his appearances on the radio but I've not listened to the podcasts. I shall remedy this.

I am NOT getting into the Muse hating club, I like them, I like their music, I like their live sets and thats it and if Bellamy wants to wear a cloak then good for him. However if he steps into Christmas single territory then he is on his own.

I cannot see what there is for people to get so excited about them for. They leave me cold. It's all very meh. First they wanted to be Radiohead, now the want to be in the 70s; I fully expect some kind of Wakeman-esque synth odyssey for their next album. |

I don't hate Muse.
Actually that's not strictly true, I love them and hate them equally. I love them for being silly and completely stupid but sort of hate them for the same reason. It's complex. All I know for certain is that I don't think they are anything special but they do have some decent songs and put on a good show. This post has been edited by maian: Aug 9 2007, 07:03 PM |

I, hate them not as well. In fact I quite enjoy their records. It's just that ever since I first saw them in their humble beginnings they have not had an ounce of originality about them. But they do seem to be pressing the right buttons.

I absolutely hate the word "muse" for some reason, and so I've declared them to have the worst band name ever. The band themselves are just meh.

Wanker Threshold. More of a front man's name than a band.

I only own one album of theirs, and I love it, and I would welcome a Wakeman-esque synth odyssey with open arms, and if I had gas money and a car that would make it that far, I'd drive up to Quebec next week and catch Wakeman's solo concert. |
