Well, it's out in the UK, and I've been perusing the forum here and now I'm scared of spoilers. I think I'll have to take up that challenge put forth by dolfyn and theevilresident101 a while back - steer clear of the Hot Fuzz threads until I see it myself. But when I do, I look forward to some intellectual discussion of themes and cinematography, and lots of overblown fanatic praise too.

QUOTE (widowspider @ Feb 15 2007, 11:44 PM) Shit, I forgot! And longer for other countries of course. I guess all we can do is either avoid the discussions altogether and burst at the seams with glee when we finally see it, or cram as much Fuzz into our heads as possible, then shamelessly say the lines in the cinema along with Simon and Nick when we actually see the movie for the first time. Both good options. |

Wow, it's been way too long since I posted here. Good to see the few Aussies in this joint are getting excited.
And yes, Big Day Out was very disappointing, I'm in Brisbane so didn't even have a Muse sideshow to go to without spending oodles of noodles. As for Margaret & David, don't get me bloody started....ok just a little bit then.... "Peter Jackson moved on from this kind of film to bigger things, and I wouldn't be surprised if Edgar Wright does too." Braindead was enjoyable sure, but please, you can hardly compare really. Margaret, with her wheezy squeaky choke disguised as a laugh should be dipped in honey and throw to the bees. I'm not normally ageist (except perhaps when driving, shopping, working, socialising, eating, drinking.......) but I really feel they need new presenters. In the UK, the 'Film' programme with Barry Norman was good, but when Jonathan Ross took over it became so much better. "English dorks have only limited appeal for me." Really? Well leathered-faced old bags have even less appeal for me. Reading those reviews on the At The Movies site *is* funny. This was the best imo: Name: Dingus Remarks: this was the coolest movie i liked the part where the zombies came Oooh er, that'll be the porn version then. Dingus indeed. Hmm, we don't have Village cinemas in Queensland...and I haven't heard any word of it up here....I become worried.... This post has been edited by Rebus: Feb 20 2007, 08:27 AM |

And I doubt Hot Fuzz will be exclusive to Village. The lads will slut themselves out to any cinema that will have them. Keep on eye on the local press in the next few weeks. |

Okay, just over 2 weeks until Aussie Hot Fuzz release. I think I may go insane before then!
Edgar, any hints as to if/when/where you guys will be appearing in the flesh here in Melbourne?? I'm sure it's safe to assume that you'd want your truly devoted fans there to see you guys, rather than just an industry rent-a-crowd! Feel the love. dolfyn. QUOTE (dolfyn @ Feb 27 2007, 09:45 PM) eeeeeeeeeee! The trailer is out there. I haven't seen it at the movies, but my mates have. It came on and apparently they recognised it as the movie I've been pounding into them for the past months. And another mate travelled to London last Wednesday, and I told her that she has to see it. She took a photo of a billboard, but can't send it to me 'cause she's shite. 2 weeks! 2 weeks! 2 weeks! |

*phew* Saw a poster in the theatre lobby for Fuzz when I went to see Pan's Labyrinth the other day so some of my fears have been allayed. Would liek it to be shown at Palace Centro though, as that's where I've reliably seen Cock and Bull, Confetti and previous British comedies.
Who knows...anyway....I'm off to pee myself just a little bit with anticipation. |

Everyone seen Edgar's Myspace blog then??
So who's going? I will definately be going to the Melbourne Q & A since I'm in Melbourne. Might even try to make it to the Sydney premiere if I'm feeling particularly entusiastic and fan-girl-ish |

QUOTE (edgar) Then on Monday 12th March we will be in Sydney for a premiere at the Greater Union Cinema on George Street. And on Tuesday 13th March we fly to Melbourne for a Q&A at Popcorn Taxi. QUOTE (AusChick) I will definately be going to the Melbourne Q & A since I'm in Melbourne. Has there ever been an Aussie Spaced-Out gathering? Are there enough members? I'm in Melbourne too, as is dolfyn. How would you guys feel about catching up? I haven't been on the forum long, but we're all harmless, right? Right? Answer me damn it! Don't make me get angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry. (joking. I'm a very loveable lad. I AM! DAMN YOU!) Sorry, all the excitement has gone straight to my head. I'm off for a Boags and a lie down. |

hehehe.
Yeah we should meet up. I will probably have my bf with me though and he is sometimes a little dubious of me meeting up with fellow nutty-fans I've met on the internet ;-) But I'm sure he'll live *edit* P.S. Never been an Aussie Spaced-out meet-up before as far as I know. Used to be the only other Aussies round here besides me were mostly Sydney-siders This post has been edited by AusChick: Mar 2 2007, 07:00 AM |

Aaaarrrggghhh!!!!!
The Melbourne one is the day after the public holiday, dammit! (Ok, breathe.....) *calms down* Heff & Auschick, I'd love to meet up. I'll be bringing my Canadian nephew & his mate, most likely. (Don't worry, they're 18!) I'll have to try thinking of an intelligent question for the Q&A. It can be difficult, as I get a bit geeky & ga-ga in those situations. Feel the love. dolfyn. |

Yeah I have no idea what I would ask in the Q & A. Maybe I'll just sit there in quiet awe.
Oh and I forgot my bf has a photography course on Tuesday nights so he wont be coming after all. It's a shame for him - but for me it means I can behave like a silly fan-girl without fear of embarrasment and retribution. hahahaha. Once we get more info about the time and location and stuff we should all PM each other and organise to meet up. I'm all excited now! *edit* P.S. Anyone who is in Sydney and thinking of going to the Premiere (or anyone who thinks they might like to try and travel to Sydney for the premiere) please PM me as I may be able to help you out a bit This post has been edited by AusChick: Mar 2 2007, 08:55 AM |
