Recorded it, but flicking through I saw a bit with Smith running about in costume with some sort of flashy sci-fi prop.
Quickly switched over as I didn't want to spoil it, I'll probably watch it tomorrow! |

Tonight BBC 4 is having a bit of a Rugby League night.
They are showing a documentary celebrating Eddie Waring, showing the magnificent 1978 Challenge Cup Final, and showing 'This Sporting Life', the brilliant film about a professional rugby league player. Directed by Lindsay Anderson, it's well worth a watch. Eddie Waring is not well liked amongst die hard RL fans. Despite him increasing the profile of the game, many find his parochial commentary dragged the game down. I tend to agree. It's a trend the beeb are happy to continue by employing the woeful Ray French. |

This whole RL night is seeming a bit patronising and half hearted. It would have been good if they could have made something about the sport as it is now. Anyway, I'm off out to fly me whippets, I just have to go and get me flat cap.

There's a Derren Brown show on C4 tonight at 10pm called "Hero at 30,000 Feet". Looks like it might be an interesting watch.

The first series of the new version of V starts on Channel One at 10pm tonight, for those who are interested! I've never seen the original V. Can someone let me know if this is worth watching. I can catch up on BBC in nz, but I can't get itv or 4od.... so if there's any cool bbc sci-fi or comedy show that I just have to watch, could someone please tell me. Thanks. |

My proxy switchy has started screwing up in the past few weeks, I think my IP is now past it, how are you going about your BBC fix? By means of a secret that only Beeb employees know about. You need a password to access it. I tried accessing 4OD on a proxy website, but it couldn't play video. Can you recommend any software? |

Star Trek Weekend on Film Four, starting on Saturday, showing the first ten films over two days.
Okay, so you've probably all seen them before, but I do like this trailer. (Does anyone know what the music is?) |

The First Men in the Moon adapted by and staring Mark Gatiss and featuring Rory Kinnear is on BBC Four tonight at 9pm.
I'm surprised this hasn't had more publicity (I hope that doesn't mean it's another Day of the Triffids . . .). It also features Julia Deakin and Lee Ingleby. Annoyingly, it's up against the season finale of Smallville . . . |

Fry & Laurie Reunion next Wednesday on UK Gold. Even includes a new Cocktail at the end! Awesome news, m'colleague. I hear that Fry is popping up in Horrible Histories next series too. I much prefer that to banging on about religion and America and that. |
