...and being in LA, apparently, is NOT, as the only screening near us is way the fuck out in Irvine. Might as well drive to San Diego while we're at it, it won't take much longer.

In related news, a demo for the PC version of the Land of the Dead game is now available. No telling whether it's any good or not; I'm off to download it right now.

And the game is...
Good for a quick-and-dirty $20 first-person shooter distraction, but I wouldn't spend much more than that on it. It's okay, but the gameplay isn't too far beyond that of Neil Manke's "They Hunger" series of mods for Half-Life. In any event, passable zombie-slaying action, but there doesn't appear to be too much else to it. |

It's not really a review, more a quick recap of initial impressions...
I think they'd really have something, though, if they just polished up the graphics, toned down the number of conveniently-placed medical kits, and really upped the strength of the firearms. I've seen enough zombie films to know that it shouldn't take six shots right between the eyes from a pistol to take down some gimpy flesh-eating corpse. |

Just got back from the showing, they had like a 20 minute interview with Romero before-hand, was excellent. I was hoping they would be giving some stuff away, oh well.
