Not sure if this is news, saw this Independent article about Hattie Morahan and skip to the end, it mentions Jessica in a new film.
QUOTE While at university, she met her fiancé, Blake Ritson, the actor who played Edmund Bertram opposite Billie Piper in Mansfield Park. With his older brother, Dylan, a writer, he has just finished his third short film Good Boy, starring Jessica Hynes, Gavin and Stacey's Joanna Page and Morahan – who also helped out with scripts and costumes. Sounds interesting. This post has been edited by grumpygit: Aug 9 2008, 04:02 PM |

That's a shame, but there's only so many times you can listen to Jupitus making Gandalf jokes. |

Total Film has a one page feature on characters they love - this month (Daniel Craig cover) it's Ed from Shaun Of The Dead.
I also saw someone carrying a copy of last week's ShortList magazine which featured Simon on the cover. Have no idea what the content is as it's a free magazine given out on Thursdays, and I wasn't in work to pick one up. |

^ If that article is true, then it's very exciting! But then, any news of Simon doing more writing is always great.
Feel the love. dolfyn. |

Honorary degree for Pegg
From thetelegraphandargus.co.uk QUOTE Actor and comedian Simon Pegg will be awarded with an honorary fellowship, a university announced.
The star of hit films such as Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and How To Lose Friends And Alienate People will receive the accolade from the University of Gloucestershire for his "significant contribution to the arts". Pegg, who hails from the county, will attend a graduation ceremony at The Centaur, at Cheltenham Racecourse, on December 4 to receive the award. He said: "I'm honoured to be receiving this fellowship, not least because it comes from an area very special to my heart. No matter where I go, Gloucester will always be my home and I can't wait to come back for this special visit" The 38-year-old was born in Gloucester and went to school in nearby Brockworth, before studying drama at the University of Bristol. Pegg moved to London in the early 90s and performed regularly on the stand-up comedy circuit, before heading into television and later film. He was recently confirmed as engineer Montgomery "Scotty" Scott in a new film adaptation of Star Trek due to be released on May 8 2009. A statement from the University of Gloucestershire's Honorary Award Committee said: "Simon is an extremely successful individual who was born and raised in the local area. "He continues to support local secondary schools in developing enterprise skills and was chosen in recognition of his significant contribution to the Arts." Aw, awesome! Nice to see them giving an honorary degree to someone with real literary skills, instead of an illiterate who just happens to have made it in the entertainment industry. Feel the love. dolfyn. |
