Hi,

I am interested to see what everyone's favorite gangster movies are. If I was to choose I would say the Godfather II, as this was the most intense story I have every expierienced in my life.

Please be honest this is not a competition, I would just like to see everyone's views

Finally, a decent post about gangster films! I was beginning to lose hope.

Tricky, certainly is a decent selection. My guy says go for Godfather Part II, but I'll have to weigh up the rest first though.

Welcome to the forum!

Edit: The Warriors? A gangster film? It's got gangs but I wouldn't say it was a gangster film. Still class, though.

Thanks for the welcome,

Yeah, I agree in a way with the critism of "Warriors". I just thought it deserved a place on the poll. Although I've seen alot of other gangster film posts, and there are films such as, "Get Rich Or Die Tryin", although it is based on 50 Cent being a gangsta, isn't it really a rags to riches type film. "Maybe I'm Wrong!" lol.

Well, it took some soul searching but I went with Goodfellas. A superb gangster film that is really quite brilliant.

GoodFellas all the way. One of my favourite films and just trumps The Godfather, Pt 1 and The Godfather, Pt 2 in my opinion. I don't know whether I would argue that GoodFella's is far and away the better film as cinematically The Godfather's are fairly spectacular, I just love Scorsese's eye for these matters. GoodFella's is the better gangster film. Brilliant.

Gangster #1. So much fun to watch, not a pseudo-cult as Reservoir Dogs. And the mix of Paul Bettany's acting and Malcolm McDowell's voice over is so brilliantly. And it remembers me of some mainstream-version of Man bites Dog - what normally isn't a good thing, but it works so fine.

I went for Goodfellas as well. Although part of me wanted to complain that Boiling Point wasn't on that list. tongue.gif

'Reservoir Dogs' isn't really a 'gangster' film.

I would say a heist movie rather than a gangster movie.

The feminist aduio-commentary says, it's a picture, where white males do harm to other white males, but I'm not sure, what this means.

Isn't a gangster movie, a movie where gangster do gangster-things?
