I watched the GMTV interview with Paul Bettany and Alfred Molina, and they couldn't stop pissing themselves. They either had loads of fun taking the piss out of "Bald Richie C" during filming, or their paycheques had just come through.

Paul Bettany was paid silly money to punch Tom Hanks in the stomach. He also gets to shag Jennifer Connelly on a regular basis. A demeanor of anything but maniacal glee at being Paul Bettany would be wholly innapropriatte under the circumstances.

Haven`t seen it, don`t want to. I read the book, and have to agree with Stephen Fry's opinion, that is indeed "Arse Gravy".

QUOTE (ipse dixit @ Jan 20 2006, 02:43 PM) I refused to read the book purely because I didn't want to be seen joining the ranks of commuters clutching their copies. I don't know whether that makes me snobbish, stubborn or fickle. Probably a combination, and it will probably extend to the film, so don't expect to find me in the queue for it any time soon. I'll probably watch it on TV some day. I was the same, but I'm planning to see it at the weekend so I read the book this week. It was enjoyable - definitely a 'pulp' thriller/mystery - but I was disappointed by the final plot twist as to the real criminal. It was way too obvious for me. However, the film has a great cast and should be an enjoyable bit of escapism in pretty locations. I expect nothing more of it and therefore I imagine I'll enjoy it. |

Dan Brown is the new John Grisham, in that his books are ok to read if you're on holiday lying by a swimming pool in Greece.
I have exactly the same expectations for the film as widowspider. I may hang on a week though and go see it as part of an Ian McK double bill. That'd be cool. It's not as if anyone can spoil the film for me. I know how it ends. |

Just read the new Total Film and mentioned is the release also on 19 May of The Da Vinci Load
The plot (as told by the director).... "When Da Vinci was painting 'The Last Supper' he was jacking off and some of his load got mixed in with the paint. So they extract his DNA to clone Da Vinci". Sadly, not starring Audrey Tautou. |

I saw a real, live Da Vinci Code protester at the weekend. He was standing outside the Omni centre in Edinburgh, which houses the Vue cinema. He'd gone to the trouble of writing some words on a bedsheet, attaching it to a lamp post and standing by it. I think it said something about 'Matthew', 'False Prophets' and 'Da Vinci Code', but I was on a bus and reading it backwards, so I couldn't really make out the rest.
He was generally being smirked at. |

There's going to be a spoof version of the film starring TV's Dick and Dom called The Da Bungalow code.
I'm off to flagellate myself. Wife Of Rolex |
