QUOTE (Svein @ Jun 17 2008, 09:14 AM) I have no problems with bringing back The Great Healer himself - I just hope that he's done right. Stylistically, Davros looks pretty similar to the one we all know & love, but I hope that the kind of out-and-out nastiness of Micheal Wisher or the creepy low-tones of Terry Molloy is retained. Oops - there will be an official announcement from the Beeb regarding the return of Davros on Thursday.
There's also a picture of Davros in The Sun and The Star this morning... Kev W |

I liked the episode if only cos Lesley 'Turn the light off, Bob' Sharp was brillness. I love her. Wasn't one of my all-time favourites but the pace and characters were made better by excellent performances. Tennant was superb with Sharp for example. They should bring her back.
Bianca's mum was a bit annoying but it added to the character's purpose for me. Which was to be irrational and shrill. Some people are just so. |

QUOTE (Raven @ Jun 17 2008, 09:54 AM) That would be nice. Or just end the series with a really good story rather than one big ending. Just to be different. I'm a little bored of the whole, 'Oooh big build up to the end,' thing. I just want a good story. QUOTE (Raven @ Jun 17 2008, 12:47 PM) Yes, ok, Rose is an important character, but shouldn't she be on level terms with The Doctor at the very most? I wouldn't have him in that picture at all to be honest, I'd just have the 3 assistants. Putting The Doctor there, and lower than Donna, throws away his character's overall status in the show. I saw that cover and thought "The Stig as a villain... that would work!"
And then I thought... what about a story with the raston warriors... we never really saw too much with them! |

A ride with the Stig?
You'd have more chance with Tennant. |

I thought the space suits River Song and her mates were wearing the other week were very 'Stig'.

Watching the trailer for the next episode makes me wish that they had the balls to have the Doctor regenerate in the middle of a big finale two-parter. Meaning that in the second half he would have to get over regeneration "sickness" in time to save the day.

RT have done covers with companions at the forefront before. She's a very popular returning character, and the Doctor gets plenty of coverage, I can't see the problem myself.
Finally watched 'Midnight' and, although it's a rip off of at least two Twilight Zone episodes, it's the best episode RTD has written so far. Fair enough, the plot wasn't amazing, it was largely carried by brilliant performances, and it fitted more in the TZ ouvre than DW; but it was a tense, entertaining and specifically SF 45 minutes of TV. Which is more than RTD has ever managed before. Apologies for all the acronyms, I'm tired. Depressing review (and spoilers) for next week, in that it sounds really shit. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to watch 'The Monsters are Due on Maple Street'. |

QUOTE (Zoe @ Jun 18 2008, 12:39 AM) Depressing review (and spoilers) for next week, in that it sounds really shit. I haven't read the DS review, but the synopsis in the Radio Times sounds good, and they've also given it a good review, but then again they are in the habbit of selling programs . . . I'm looking forward to it. |
