I very much like the Oreo with the little girl telling her dad how to eat an Oreo. It is super-sweet.

Does anyone watch adverts at normal speed anymore? At home, nearly all the TV is watched from Sky+ so adverts are watched on fast forward. I have been wondering if this will begin to change the way in which ads are made (more static images, larger writing)? Will it take out the creativity of adverts and we'll end up with a still image of the product for 30 seconds so we can cleary see it even at x30? Or is it not such a big issue at the moment for the advertiser as to worry about it.

Or is it not such a big issue at the moment for the advertiser as to worry about it. Just under half of UK households currently have a PVR like Sky+. On average, in these households about 85% of all TV viewing is live - i.e. not using the recording function. Within the 15% of viewing that's recorded, about 85% is watched 'as live' - i.e. without skipping ads. So the total amount of advertising lost to PVR skipping is 15% of 15% of 50%, or about 1%. This is more than counterbalanced by the fact that when households acquire a PVR they watch more TV than they used to. (I'm just going off the top of my head here, and some of the figures may be a bit out, but they're in the right area.) This seems a ridiculous way to watch TV to me, since I almost always watch recorded shows, and almost always skip the ads, like you. But we are very far from the average. |

People record and then don't skip the ads? What is this madness?

Would 'as live' include the BBC though? I watch BBC programmes 'as live' because there's nothing to fast forward through. |

I ff the ads unless I have a hangover. When I try to do it then I have to turn away from the screen as it makes me feel sick. This can make it tough to notice when the programme has re-started.

So, is it just me, or do the adverts make eharmony look like a dating site for the insufferably smug and match.com a dating site for hipsters with stalkerish tendencies?
