Surely it still turns a good profit with 5.3 million viewers? O_o

Not necessarily. It would have been very profitable at the beginning when it was a fresh, new show that surprised people with its success, but as the series goes on the cost of keeping the cast together and maintaining the sets will have risen and the drop in viewers might not have created enough revenue to keep it going.

It's that time of the year again . . .

First to fall - Ugly Betty.

What the fuck?

I'm no massive fan of the show, but it was a good one, and was raking in the viewers here and in the USA.

I had heard rumours about season four being the last of Ugly Betty, but I was keeping my fingers crossed they'd change their minds. Shame. At least they'll finish it properly, instead of leaving us hanging like they did with My Name Is Earl.

I didn't even see that. Heard it was crap anyway, and crap + Amanda Holden = I can't be bothered.

Thank the maker. I'd never seen such dreck until I caught an episode of this.

Isn't Tom whatshisface in his mid-30s now? They can't go much longer surely.

I gave up around about season three.

EDIT 34? Someone needs to fire their agent.

The episode with the golden age Justice Society was pretty good though.

Why? He's had 10 straight years of work!

I've not seen any of the latest series, still waiting for it to come on E4, but the previous series have been okay. Some episodes are dull, but there are also some very good ones.

He must be pretty typecast by now though, once the show eventually ends I doubt he'll get much work. Mostly because he's a terrible, wooden actor.

I don't think he's that bad, the role is pretty much a straight-jacket in itself.
