I thought that was a lot better, much much funnier than the series opener. Incidentally did anyone catch the URL for that football talk website that Moss was using? Not that I need it or anything.

That episode wasn't too funny & it used a lot of regurgitated Linehan gags.

I just don't find it funny at all. It's such a bog-standard sitcom, and I see it as being a massive waste of talent considering who's part of the cast and crew.

I think much of its charm, and very much Linehan's intention, is that it's a very traditional studio based sit-com.
That said, the A plot and the B plot felt very disjointed this week. It felt like they'd struggled to think of something for Jen to do... Come to think of it, it felt a bit like that last week as well. It's becoming the Roy and Moss show, which is shame as it's a waste of Katharine Parkinson's considerable talents. |

I prefer it when Linehan draws more attention to the fact that its a sitcom. Like in Father Ted when they find that perfectly square bit of dirt on the window.... a device to set up a joke & they reference the unlikelihood of such a thing happening.
or even at the very end of the last episode of the IT Crowd when Roy asks the obvious plot-hole question 'Who shut the doors?'. |

I have tried to watch both episodes of the new series, but I dropped off around the same point each time.
It's quite possible that it's due to the fact that I don't really sleep properly anymore, but it could also be that the show just seems to be "business as usual". Kev W |

I've just watched Ep 2 on 4oD. I laughed out loud a couple of times; my dad wondered what the hell I was watching. I wish Matt Berry had been in it though.

Finally caught up thanks to the magic of YouTube. First ep was the funnier of the two, but neither up to par compared with the previous two series.

Tonight's IT Crowd (are we up to episode 4 or 5?) was a return to form... certainly as good as any from the 1st 2 series.
I think with a show like this, it's not the individual jokes that make it good (although they help), but the farcical story idea within an episode. |

"Fasten the seatbelts on your ears, because I'm taking them on the ride of their lives!"
Just caught up with series 3. Great stuff. It's the kind of show that when it first started, I didn't find funny but watched all of anyway, and it's really grown on me. It's so charming in a way, and that's what makes it so funny. |
