I think its great thet Simon is grabbing opportunities like this with both hands.
I never understood why Ricky Gervais doesn't want to do the same now he's 'made it'. Apparently he's been offered roles in some big movies too. It may be a once in a lifetime opportunity for god's sake! I'm with Simon - go for it! Perhaps he can factor in Nick Frost to reprise his TA role somewhere in MI:3!! |

Re: RIP Banners-on-the-Hill-
That was brilliant! I had tears! It was hilarious... goddamn if only it were true. I could visualize it all quite clearly, would make for a much more entertaining MI3 |

QUOTE (Downsy @ Oct 11 2005, 10:23 PM) ![]() After such memorable quotes as "I'm not gonna abandon England for something like, I don't know...Mission Impossible 3", Simon Pegg has signed up for a role in the latest Mission Impossible film. Talking of quotes ... here's what he said in an old Q/A session with the beeb about the chance of being in MI:3 "Simon, you rawked in Shaun Of The Dead? Any plans to shoot off to America, sell-out and do a big action film? Dave Starke SP: Yes. EW: We want to do an English action film. SP: I would love to do something in America because the resources are obviously there and production is more prolific over there, but I don't think going over to America for the sake of it and being in anything is a good step. That's not really a move forward. It's more sort of going over and living the dream a little bit. But, yeah, sure! EW: As long as you don't end up playing second fiddle to Chris Tucker or someone. SP: If it meant a toss up between doing our next film and being in Rush Hour 4 or Tom Cruise's team in Mission: Impossible III... I would definitely do Mission: Impossible III [laughs]. " |

I've got quite a few things to say lol
QUOTE (Dorf @ Oct 11 2005, 11:40 PM) This has turned a film i had absolutley no interest in, into something i may view, but shall remain suspicious I agree completely... I hate Tom Cruise, the feckin midget.. and I hate Katie Holmes too... grrr... QUOTE (spacegurl @ Oct 12 2005, 02:13 AM) Should be interesting. I just keep imagining him as a snivelling baddie type after his stint on Dr Who. Wasn't Simon fantabulous as The Editor?!?! That's one of my fave Dr Who's (along with the Mark Gatiss one n the last one) QUOTE (m0r1arty @ Oct 12 2005, 11:08 AM) I agree completely!! Did I mention that I hate him n Katie Holmes n that I hope he breaks every bone in his body while filmin MI3? xxxx |

Doves are a John Woo thing, so it's unlikely. Keep your eyes peeled for the number 47 though.

In spite of my earlier, slightly silly, post - it would be difficult to try and predict what Simon Pegg's character will be like, apart from his being a "good guy"... probably a measure of his acting range.
Saying that, it WOULD be nice to see a Tim-type character sharing a flat with a complaining Tom Cruise (Cruise: "Why don't you switch off the game and come help me tidy up?" Tim: "Fuck you!"). Mind you, I'm still holding out for Cruise's character being saved from oblivion by a last-minute cameo from Tyres, piloting a helicopter. Oi oi! |

QUOTE (Dax Trajero @ Oct 12 2005, 03:35 PM) I think Simon & Edgar could have a Cruise fixation. I reckon they'll kill him off in no time. Perhaps something like this... The film opens with Cruise having just received his orders by way of a large Betamax video recorder. He's informed the tape will self destruct, so ejects and tosses it casually over his shoulder. Cut to Simon driving past in his convertible - top down, Burt Bacharach on the stereo. His happiness is somewhat halted by the sight of a video cassette flying through the air and landing on his lap. BOOOOOM!!! - Cue the music, cue the titles, cue Pegg's body parts flying off in all directions. Perhaps they can get Abrahams & Zucker to direct ? cue everyone leaving the cinema |

Perhaps his mission will be to make Tom Cruise taller, some high heels perhaps.
