I've always liked the opening for the show-within-a-show Eye on Springfield.
Which, of course, looks suspiciously like the Miami Vice opening. This post has been edited by Omniscia: Nov 21 2007, 04:21 PM |

QUOTE (Jessopjessopjessop @ Nov 21 2007, 07:54 AM) I must give special mention to Mike Post and his vast canon of classic themes. Consider: Quantum Leap NYPD Blue LA Law Hill Street Blues The A-Team Muder One. ... and the legendary Rockford Files, the theme to which I do believe actually charted. QUOTE (gulfcoast_highwayman @ Nov 21 2007, 10:09 AM) Am I the only one who always loathed that opening? That was the point at which that show disappeared up its own arse for me; I might still catch myself watching for a few minutes thanks to my ridiculous girlish crush on Diedrich Bader. |

Personally, I always had a liking for Taxi - just how many times did that car cross that bridge? - and then of course there's Cheers.
Shows I remember from when I was a kid, that haven't already been mentioned (thanks Sostie, I was whistling Tales of the Golden Monkey all morning!), would have to include Blake's 7 and the original Battlestar Galactica, that I can't find a clip for! One that sticks in my mind from when I was really young, because my older sister used to watch it avidly, is Black Beauty, and another animal from when I was older, The Littlest Hobo - God I hated that program! Oh, and let's not forget the one and only: Danger Mouse! |

QUOTE (Sostie @ Nov 21 2007, 07:43 PM) There was an article I read a while back about beginning sequences which said the same thing. I wish I could find it again since there were some real gems on there. Of the recent title sequences I've seen I'm rather partial to The Wire and even though it changes for each season they all manage to encapsulate the essence of the show in their combination of images and music to great effect. Deadwood also made an effort with their credits, as did Carnivale. This post has been edited by maian: Nov 21 2007, 07:52 PM |

There's no rule saying that boobies, blood and great aesthetic design can't be combined. Much of the Renaissance seemed to be based on the idea that some or all of these things were inseparable.
