Well obviously people liked it or they would not have been signed up for a second series. I love the original, but have never seen the "new" one, my friend loves it though. All I have to say is that at least it is not another bloody reality show...

Yeah, I had the same confused reaction. I think that it's good enough to stand on it's own, but it shouldn't be compared to the original.

QUOTE (fear_of_pop @ Jun 14 2005, 09:58 PM) It was a hell of a lot better than I thought it would be. I didn't expect it to look exactly the same either, but it does. Still, nowhere near as good as the original, but I can't imagine anyone expected it to be. It's made me want to go and watch Ricky's one immediately. I agree- it's not as disastrous as i'd imaginged it to be. I think the office set was way too similar to the British version. They are trying too hard to mimic the original rather than make it their own. . |

The first ep was totally unconvincing and a bit poo, however, I have heard that it gets better so I shall reserve judgement.

Wasn't the whole point of the stapler-in-the-jelly-incident that Gareth was scared of jelly and so couldn't get it out?
They seemed to miss that most important bit out of the American version. Tsk tsk. (I could be wrong. But it's been bothering me all night.) |

You're right about the jelly. Gareth didn't trust the way it moved.
I just watched the first ep today and thought it was rather good. If I hadn't seen the UK version, it would stand on it's own merits. Their 'Dawn' is a cutie. Like ours really. ![]() She needs a hug. This post has been edited by gulfcoast_highwayman: Jun 15 2005, 07:48 PM |
