I'd recommend Grand Theft Auto if you're a little rusty, it has simple pick up and playability and a steady learning curve. The Halo games are pretty good too. I have less interest in that because of the setting. Like most genres in most mediums, Sci-fi is the thing that gets my cock rocking. It's just how my brains works. |

I think the setting of Liberty City is the only thing that brought me back to the GTA games. Seeing the same mural on the same wall with a very similar homeless guy sleeping on a bench that I saw in real life a few days previously just blew my mind. (Coney Island in real life, the equivalent in GTA) |

By delivery, I mean I need you to give drugs to some people there. Not legal drugs. Illegal drugs. Cecil Rhodes Centre isn't also a euphemism though, but 'delivery' is. I regret asking you this in such a convoluted way but those people at the Cecil Rhodes Centre really do need those drugs." |

Maybe try Mass Effect if you like a bit of sci-fi.
It is a game I really must go back to, it's just a shame that when you go exploring it is a tad repetitive. This post has been edited by Atara: Jan 29 2009, 10:04 PM |

That's supercool, but until they bring out GTA Bishop's Stortford, I won't get the same rush. You've gotten me far too excited about the idea of driving through Stortford breaking things. It was a recurring dream I had for about a year You need to get live so you can help Jimmay and I kill zombies. |

Thank you Sean, you've clearly done your research. Maybe Mass Effect if you like a bit of sci-fi. It was a recurring dream I had for about a year Haha, let's hope Rockstar are programming it right now! As for the live scenario... still too green for that shit. |

Thank you Sean, you've clearly done your research. Well, it is my favourite Ancient Market Town of Hertfordshire. On the game front, I would recommend Prince of Persia for sumptuous visuals and accessible, enjoyable gameplay; it's like a big hug of a game, provided you don't really listen to the dialogue. |

Really? Damn. Why so? It just is, the simulation itself feels like some barely fleshed out idea that was banded around the Bethesda offices until someone said "Oh shit, we need something else for the Fallout DLC... Hmmm." It all seems far too detached from the Fallout universe, which I suppose was what they were going for, but in a bad way. From a game that has made so many advancements in gameplay we're taken directly right back to the good old fashioned 1997 FPS template. Scavenging has been removed, you're given a shockingly awful arsenal that you MUST play with, I shit you not, I was given a knife and a 10mm pistol and told to take out three artillery cannons... Stim-packs and other such useful items have been completely removed, instead you get bright red health regeneration points scattered throughout the level, the same applies to ammunition dispensers. It just creates a massive sense of...imprisonment. Gone is the freedom that Bethesda are renowned for, gone is the innovation, gone is the fun. What's left is a cold, hollow almost shallow experience. It's nice to see the developers attempting to do something different with an already fairly unique experience but to replace the barren wastes of a post-nuclear DC with the barren wastes of snowy Alaska just dosen't feel right. There's no real exploring to do, it's all linear corridors and imposing land masses. There's some interesting ideas revolving around building a squad to command and there's the amazing Gauss Rifle to play with...whether these minor plus points are worth the 800 points Microsoft want for the extra content is up to you. |
