QUOTE (CazBag @ May 9 2007, 07:38 AM) I couldn't for the life of me remember where that was taken from either ... I knew I'd heard that name before. Drove me mad for ages. Son of a bitch... I caught the joke, but not the reference. QUOTE There's a Hog Lumps board behind the bar too. I also love the bit when Angel yells, "Stop! In the name of the Law!" & then throws his baton through the glass in slow-mo!
Feel the love. dolfyn. |

Yessss, that moment is made of pure awesomeness. I think the moment that broke the awesome-meter was when he rode in on that horse. Not exactly a little detail though. |

Speaking of riding in on horses... did anyone catch how at the beginning of the movie, the store clerk's walkie talkie comes on with someone saying "Look at his arse."... then at the end of the movie, the walkie talkie has someone saying "Look at his horse." Very witty.

Here's one: I love how the NWA's practice of repeating "The greater good" whenever it's spoken is foreshadowed right from the start...as early as Angel's first visit to the pub. It happens during Angel's conversation with Roy and Mary, and again with Frank later on, all worked beautifully into the dialogue.
QUOTE (CazBag @ May 9 2007, 04:44 AM) One of my favourite bits with the sound and editing is when the raffle drum is being spun and then it cuts to going up the church tower steps. Definitely a nice touch. Ooh, I get all gleeful whenever I see this scene. Speaking of clever transitions--I suppose the "You're pulling my leg" one is too obvious to mention? |

I got Danger 50,000 volts on DVD two days ago. It is HILARIOUS. My roommate and I were dying laughing.
It's been a good last few days. Hot Fuzz, Danger 50,000 Volts.... now just to get Spaced... Some of the movie references I caught were the water main breaking during the final fight like in Lethal Weapon, and the Lost Highway shots when Nick Angel drives out of town. And the red light as the car pulls away like Goodfellas. |

Love the "kerrching" when Danny's eyes light up when Nicholas tells him he's been stabbed. |

Three things that i don't think have been mentioned that stuck with me:
When Angel is chasing the fuck-ugly dude and grabs the spray can and chucks it at him from yards and yards away... you know Angel's not going to miss, because he's Sergeant Nicholas Angel, but just to see it cracks me up 'cause it looks so real, but it's completely insane. And also after Danny "stabs" Angel: Angel: Danny, this is murder! Danny: It's not murder... it's ketchup. "Policemanofficer" |

In the pub after Romeo & Juliet, Martin Blower says "You came" reminiscent of Vulva to Brian after his/her performance.
