Does the UK get the tv show LOST? I'm a huge fan. Here's the posting board for this show. There can be a billion things to discuss... mainly because the show keeps bringing up more durn questions than answers!

For example, what the heck do you think that big... thing... is in the forest thats munching on people?

What do you think Locke knows about the island?

What was the deal with the french scientist lady who killed her whole team? What were THEY doing there?

Why are there polar bears?

I mean what in the overall zues's booty is going on here?

I only watched cause it's directed by JJ Abrams and i think it's excellent, but did find the first few episodes a little slow but it's really got going now. I do still prefer alias.

It's not on british TV yet, although I believe it is coming to E4 this year,

Is this the show where they dump some random strangers in an unknown location (eg Sakhalin island) and they have to work out how to get home?

haven't heard of it, but i was ASM on a musical called Lost that was in the NYC Fringe in 2003...about two kids who get lost in the woods around the great smoky mountains and meet hoodoos and witches. it was loosely based on hansel and gretel, but much weirder and cooler.

*back on topic...we'll have to keep an eye out for when it comes over to the UK.

Supposed to be on E4 late January I heard.

I have been downloading episodes ( yeah bad I know). and so far it's been fantastic. Everything from Plot to characters is well thought out and well acted.

OH MY GOSH! AHAHAH Pee on my foot pee on my foot. Hurley is the man.

Ummm ok well a little explaining to our british friends about the show and why they need to get it. "LOST" is a HUGE hit here, even though it has a very "indie" feel for a show.

Basically, its about a band of people who were on a plane that crashed on some mysterious island. They are THOUSANDS of miles off course of where they should have been. The whole plane crew is dead. They have no hope of being rescued.

Now, sounds like a regular survival type show right? Well that's where the really awesome storytelling comes in. Turns out there's something up with the island. Every episode things get weirder and weirder, and little bits of info get revealed.

First, the characters. Every episode goes a bit into the background of one of the main characters to show you what they were like before getting on the fated plane. And all of them have something weird. For example, last night we learned that two people who said they were brother and sister this whole time are really step-brother and sister and in love with one another. DO WHAT?? The cast is so interesting... there's a doctor who has halucinated in seeing his dead father on the island, there main girl hero turned out to be a bank robber/murderer, a korean woman who can speak english but only two people know (her korean husband doesn't even know) and a bassist for a band who was a heroin addict, now cured. There is also a pregnant girl, but she was recently kidnapped by someone who was NOT on the plane to begin with but has been living with them the whole time. We still don't know what happened to them come to think of it...

Then the island. First of all, there was a polar bear that came out of the jungle. Then they found a radio transmission that had been running for sixteen years by this french woman. Then they FOUND the french woman who told them she was there with an entire team, whom she killed off. (she then disappeared back into the jungle). There's a HUGE... thing... thats in the woods that kills people. And they've found some mysterious trap door buried in the jungle floor that leads somewhere, but they can't get it open. Locke seems key because he is the only one who has seen the...creature... and lived, and he knows the secret of the island it seems.

So it just gets addicting and you get hooked. Ultimately tho, every episode leaves you with more questions than answers... which makes it all the more fun to watch. Definitely the most interesting show on tv.

That should have come with a spoiler warning for brits who haven't been naughty downloaded it.

Just finished watching wednesdays episode. Locke really suprised me this week, although all the characters do have dark sides

I really like way it's structured, with a retrospective on one character in each episode as well as driving the story. JJ Abrams like Edgar Wright has his own really distintive creative style thats a pleasure to watch.

OOohhh! I keep hearing about this show and I'm getting really impatient over here! Late January is what I've heard too, as JR said, but I've not seen any trailers or anything on tv yet.

There's a single clip of it on the loop shown on the topuptvsampler channel on freeview. An excellent series though. Been looking around online and can't find an TX dates for lost in the UK, I doubt they will start broadcasting until the series has finished in america, so probably another couple of months.

LOST is great. Got episodes 11-13 to watch this weekend.

As for UK TX dates I think I read somewhere that E4 had it scheduled for June!!!!

Yeah, its' the no.3-6 show in america (depending on the week) so I'm SURE its going to come there soon. Naughty naughty downloading the episodes, but hey you gotta do what you gotta do. I think the only downside of the show is that if you miss a week, you miss a lot, b/c you'll usually learn all about one character and you'll miss some new revelation on the island.

Did you see next week's preview? Looks like the polar bears return!
