It's like The X-Files, meets Lost, meets The Twilight Zone.

It just gets better and better. They manage to balance a one-off story each week, with advancing the main plot (something the X-Files and even Buffy occasionally failed at), which has been awesome since day one. It just keeps expanding. And unlike Lost, you feel like you're getting answers not just more questions.

Not to diss Lost, I love Lost.

It's also genuinely funny, and the cast are uniformly brilliant. Even some of the characters I wasn't originally impressed with, like Lincoln Lee, turn up in the 'other' universe and are freakin' awesome, I love geeky Lincoln!

The season three device of alternating between universes - right down to the red/blue credits is brilliant and so much better done than the flash sideways in Lost.

It's pure entertainment, brilliantly done.

Probably not a popular opinion, but I do like Fringe more than I do LOST. I did quite like LOST, all the way to the end, but love Fringe. I'd go as far to say it's probably the most enjoyable thing on TV at the moment. Walter Bishop is pretty much the best character on TV currently (in my opinion). Anna Torv gets better and better too, her Leonard Nimoy impression is brilliant.

Apparently tomorrow's episode has an amusing cartoon sequence inside Olivia/William's mind. That could be great.

Also, speaking of opening titles, I like the 80s version that crops up sometimes, it was in an episode last season too, I think.

It's such a witty, imaginative, fun and clever SF show. I'm not sure British TV will ever get close - certainly not in terms of its production values. Right from the first episode the special effects have been brilliant.

I watched the 80s episode last night. My reaction was similar to yours.
It has really, really grown on me, there was a point in the middle of season 2 where I was beginning to lose interest but it's hooked me back in now. Great stuff.

Has anyone else been watching Bob's Burgers? I was unimpressed by the first few episodes - especially in comparison to Loren Bouchard's earlier shows like Home Movies - but it's really developed into a terrific comedy. It's not quite as good as star H. Jon Benjamin's other animated show, at least not yet, but it does the sort of small-scale, character based comedy that King of the Hill used to do brilliantly, but with enough wackiness to stop it getting quite as sleepy as that show could.

If nothing else, it's nice to see Fox putting a little support behind an animated show that isn't created by Seth Macfarlane.

Vince watches it and loves it. I occasionally catch it but haven't had time to really get into it.

Why isn't Anna Torv a geek sex symbol of Scully proportions?

I know, right? She's totally the natural successor to Scully. Capable, no-nonsense, brave, stubborn, intuitive, and, well... she's not got the worst legs in the world



Not that she'd ever get them out - except for a mission.

Some of the little touches about her character are wonderful like how she immediately started scraping back the fringe they'd cut her as soon as she was finally back in the prime universe. The stuff Peter said about her not having an easy smile was beautifully judged.

I really love the whole cast of characters. Nina's really grown on me in the last season or two, Astrid is a delight as is Asperger's Astrid, of course Peter, especially Walter, and Charlie and Broyles, and now even Lincoln... since we've seen another side of him. Oh and Brandon I LOVE Brandon. JJ Abrams is really good at making well plotted shows, where you still care about the characters. I think I should rent Alias.

EDIT: I was trying to find a less glamorous picture of Olivia. Shit hair and a woolly hat would be more appropriate, and it's why I love her.

It is well worth a rental for the first three or four, then it goes completely off the rails. Same with Felicity. Apart from that, it's a good sexy spy show.

That's a good episode, though I know some Lost fans really hate it. I like the divisive ones, more fun to discuss. Except for Stranger In A Strange Land, which is awful.
