Simpsons at no 1?
How very, very, predictable. |

QUOTE (Starscream`s Ghost @ Mar 28 2008, 01:37 PM) too, true. That's why these lists are so bogus. I like the Simpons a lot. I do think it's a great television show, groundbreaking and a cultural touchstone. I agree with all of that. But I've found -- at least in the U.S. -- if you don't worship at its alter, then you are some how treated as less of a person. If one more person says to me ... "Have you seen that Simpson's episode where ..." in reference to something going on in the world, I might just ACTUALLY have a cow, man! |

QUOTE (Jon 79 @ Mar 28 2008, 05:40 PM) According to Empire magazine: http://www.empireonline.com/50greatesttv/default.asp?tv=10 ...personally I'd rate it a bit higher. QUOTE Did You Know? At the end of the last episode of series one during the scene where Tim and Daisy are dancing in the pub and discussing porn, the band playing is actually fronted by Simon Pegg's real dad. As opposed to Simon Pegg's fake dad I suppose? That is a shockingly poor list, so I don't know how much validity I can give to the comment that it's good to see The West Wing as high as it is, and that Band of Brothers should be much higher than 41. Was this voted for by Empire readers? ETA: Yes, it was - that explains a lot. |

Well I'm happy because Spaced got a good showing, Buffy was in the Top 3, and Angel was not forgotten.
But no Northern Exposure or The Avengers is criminal. |

Larry David and Seinfeld?
Two choices I can't understand. I never got Seinfeld's humor and Curb your enthusiasm... well... I don't get this show neither. And the best DS9 episode is "In pale moonlight". It's Goethe's Faust goint Trek. |

QUOTE If only for the paintball in the knackers gag, this is Spaced at its very best. What? If you watch all the episodes of Spaced and the funniest thing you find is someone getting shot in the knackers, you're not allowed to watch it anymore. |

QUOTE (Crutch @ Mar 29 2008, 09:46 PM) If I were to name one, I'd go with "The Visitor," in which a young Bajoran woman helps an old Jake Sisko unravel the mystery of his father's apparent death -- and subsequent annual ghostly reappearances -- before he kicks the bucket himself. |

Someone getting hit in the bollocks is always funny, especially when prefaced with Tim's bedsit line.
My favourite jokes in 'Spaced' aren't even jokes. One is Reece Shearsmith doing a stupid voice and the other is Reece Shearsmith saying 'their robot' as if it is a joke... The funny thing is, I don't even like Reece Shearsmith. |
