Elf Quite a lovely Christmas film. A few laughs and predictable as any kids Christmas film is expected to be but Zooey is just so very very pretty. I may have to invest in a bigger tv just to get her eyes even remotely close to life-size. It's a winner. Forgetting Sarah Marshall A lot better than I was expecting. Dealt with the ending of a long term relationship in funny but accurate ways, had plenty of amusing and revealing flashback sequences and plenty of the gorgeous Kristen Bell (this time without electricity firing out of her fingertips). And Russell Brand is actually good in it. And very funny. I liked it a lot more than Knocked Up (disappointing and unaccurate) but still like Superbad more. |

The Core
Being an actual bonefide geologist I should have switched this film off within the first 1/2 hour but I actually carried on watching it until the end. It has more holes in it, (both scientific and plot wise), than a very holey thing but its still quite entertaining and there are some interesting set-pieces. They were doing well on the science part in their descriptions of the Earth's structure and when they simplified things they even said that they had simplified it, but it lost me when they started flamethrowing a peach for no reason at all other than to shit people up. It went downhill from there and didn't really make any sense ever again. However, it must have been doing something right though as I watched it until the end, despite it finishing way past my bedtime, and I actually cared when a couple of the characters died. |

All this talk of Working Girl makes me glad I missed the 80's. It all sounds positively ghastly. Not like the 90's, where we had class like Power Rangers: The Movie. I accidentally molded the titles of Power Rangers: The Movie and the second Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. They did both feature ooze, though. Don't forget the cinematic masterpiece that was Spiceworld. Yes, each decade has its own cringe-factors; but you can't put down the '80s unless you were there. Feel the love. dolfyn. Is Working Girls considered to be a bad film then?
I don't like it ironically, I just like it. 'Pineapple Express' (2008) Stupid and Funny. 'The Incredible Hulk' (2008) Boring and stupid. |

I genuinely think it's a good film.
I had no idea it was considered 'naff' by anyone. Sigourney Weaver is fabulous when she does comedy (see also 'Heartbreakers'), Harrison Ford is sexy, Melanie Griffith adorable and Joan Cusack is... Joan Cusack. What's not to like? It's just very very eighties in its styling, but that's probably because it was made in the 1980s. It's not really fair to judge something as being of its time. Was the whole point of the Incredibly Boring Hulk that two minutes at the end? Coming in 2010! |

I've only seen Working Girl once, it was on late one night a good few years back. I thought it was ok.

And Seductress Weaver is seriously hot, even with her leg in a cast. Wah-wah-wee-wah. |

'Zach and Miri make a Porno' (2008) Porn! Romance! Porn! Romance! Porn! Romance! Shit in face! Porn! Romance! Kevin Smith has gone wrong and it makes me sad. Some good jokes though, and Jason Mewes looks terrifyingly healthy. I don't think Kevin Smith has made a decent film since Dogma. |

Four Christmases
Meh of the highest order. Althouh did make me wish we could just feck off for the christmas break and not have to keep various fambly members happy by 'sharing that special time' with them. Plus got very annoyed as the cinema was full of chavvy kids shouting at eachother |
