Since I started the Funeral music thread I thought I'd try and lift the tone by asking whether anyone had thought what they might have played on a (possibly) happier occasion.
Personally I'm not sure I'll bother getting married unless my partner was very keen, I don't see the point (except for the tax breaks). If I do end up getting hitched though one thing's for sure 'Wild Horses' by The Rolling Stones will be the first dance. So what would you/did you have as your first dance? |

It was gonna be SFA's 'Fire in my Heart', or, more cheesily, the Verve's 'Lucky Man', but it didn't happen.
*sobs* No, I'm fine... |

I'm sorry I didn't realise this was going to be a difficult subject. Maybe we should go back to the happier funeral music thread. |

My friends had "You're My Best Friend" by Queen, which was very, very sweet.
Incidentally they had "Do you Realise" as they walked out the church, which I noticed had popped up in the Funeral thread. A song for all occasions! I'd quite like to have "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys. |

QUOTE (tigerlily @ Mar 9 2005, 03:08 PM) Yeah, that's my favourite song of all time; but one of my mates (who's wife picked it - he didn't even know what it was) had it last year, thieving bastard! Saw Brian Wilson perform it live at The Royal Festival Hall and it made me cry. |

When my brother got married he had 'Wouldn't it be Nice' by the Beach Boys and he and wife walked out to the medal ceremony music from Star Wars A New Hope which was pretty cool.

Walk into the Reception to The Imperial March and the wedding dance would be "Never Tear Us Apart" by INXS...

A female friend and I, many years back, agreed that it would be cool to play The Imperial March as the bride walked down the isle - sadly she was dating someone else at the time . . . Lost touch with her now, I wonder if she did it? I have another friend who had to play the Doctor Who theme on a piano for someone as they walked out of the church. |
