Anyway, back on topic, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.- Clear Sky is rather good. But it is every bit as buggy as I feared. |

I got my scratched GTA back from the scratchdoctor today after a week and one mix up. The disc is spotless and you'd never guess there was ever a scratch there, although I've still not tried it yet so it could still be shit.

Me and two of my housemates are pooling our money together to get a 360 and Rock Band on Saturday. I'm struggling to see the point of playing a 360 without being paid to, though...

They're ok as long as you put ear defenders on to cover the awful noise they produce Did the recent Halo 3 update have anything interesting does anyone know? I doubt I'll be playing it much anymore to be honest anyway. I'm looking forward to getting home and getting WipeoutHD, I will undoubtedly suck at it, but I really do love the Wipeout games. |

I've never noticed a problem with 360s being noisy, to be honest. I've worked in rooms with 30 or more of them running simultaneously and it's never been an issue. Maybe I'm just really good at tuning these things out.

I remember Nonus saying the same thing, I imagine it's actually defeaned you so you can't hear that particular freqency anymore. It really bugs me how loud they are. I understand there are some that have different drives and run quietly though?

I've played on 4 or 5 360's, and none of them have made a noise that I noticed, really.
My GameCube seems to be the loudest console I've played on. |

My 360 used to make a decent amount of noise when playing games, but not so much with dvds.
Speaking of my 360, I'm still getting the run around from Microsoft. I email them, I get the same response "This is not the Xbox Support Team, please call them" (despite the email address telling me otherwise), I email back reminding them what their email address is and that I've already called them and gotten messed around before. Next email I get - "This is not the Xbox support team..." Any suggestions for what I can do? The length of time I've been messed around for has put me out of warranty so I'm pretty angry about this, but lost as to who to contact that might actually listen and do something. |

I have no idea why they seem to be making such a complete balls up with your requests. When mine broke, and everyone else I've known, the support people have been pretty straight forward, and the service has been pretty fast. I've always used the phone though, never email. When you first requested a repair did they get your contact details correctly? I'm wondering if they've been emailing you shipping labels and stuff to a mispelt email address or something. As for the noise they make, that's seems to be entirely down to the DVD drive. I can barely hear my 360 when it's not playing a game or just watching a DVD (a DVD doesn't have to spin very fast to play). In my office we have 14 Xbox 360s between 4 of us and since most of the time we're running off hard disk it's not noticeably loud. |
