Saw that last night and was more shocked than I thought I would be. I didn't even know he was ill.

Christopher Cazenove
Corin Redgrave Despite taking credit for things he didn't do (Sex Pistols music & lyrics, The Grundy Affair) there's no doubt that without him there would have been no Pistols and therefore no British punk (he even introduced scratching and break dancing to the mainstream). Without a doubt one of the most important cultural figures of the last 40 years. Very sad. Lydon's tribute was surprising. |

Double Dutch has pretty much been on a constant roll in my head since I heard about Malcolm McClaren's passing last night.

Ada the dog ("Colin") has died. Sad times.
From Simon Pegg's Twitter.. QUOTE Just heard the very sad news that Ada who played Colin the dog in Spaced, passed a way at the grand old age of 13. Have fun next door Ada.x Yes it's probably silly putting it in this particular thread, but it felt appropriate given that this is a spaced forum. |

I'm amazed they sold as many as 8.5 million last year. You can get a USB pendrive now for practically nothing, and even the smallest ones are over 100 times the capacity of a floppy (which is a misnomer as only the larger 5.25" ones were actually floppy). It's so strange to think of things kids only 15 years younger than me will never remember experiencing. I remember using the big 5.25" disks for a while, not to mention cassette tapes and VHS. Magnetic media of all kinds is completely obsolete now. Hell, in 5 years even traditional hard drives will be old I think. I know Apple uses solid state in all their computers now. How the world changes... my iPod is 20 times larger than my first PC in terms of storage, has a higher screen resolution, and I don't even know how much faster the processor is. |

At scholl in the mid 80's, we all had a couple of 5.25 floppies for Computer Studies. One had work, and the other had games for the after hours computer room fun.
