In a fight, the Zep. Mainly because they're less toff-like.
In music, I'll go for the Floyd's ability to slip from killer rock to psychedelic wizardry over the Zep's straightforward sword and sorcery. It is pretty close though. |

In terms of lasting impact, I'd have to go with Zep.
In terms of what I prefer to listen to, I'd have to go with Floyd. But of the two bands, "Kashmir" is easily my favourite tune. |

Ver Floyd are quality.... some of the time.
Zep are raw as fuck.... a lot of the time. It almost comes down to prog vs. blues. As much as I like Dark Side and Wish You Were Here, I'm going to have to go with Zep. |

I vote Pink Floyd. The Wall, Dark Side of the Moon, Animals... they play a big part in the soundtrack to my childhood. I wasn't as much aware of the glory of Led Zep untill I was about 8 or 9.
My Dad went to Led Zeps last ever gig. He also went to see The Wall being performed live, but got wrecked in the pub next door instead and missed it... he didn't care then, he is mildly gutted now. |

And Zep are the second most overrated band of all time in any case. They're good, don't get me wrong, but they're not as good as some would have you believe.

Zep, hands down.
This reminds me, I miss Sostie's big film and band dust-ups... |

QUOTE (baking @ Jun 18 2007, 06:28 AM) ...similar bands, similar time-frame...I really like led zepppelin and dont like P.Floyd You probably don't like Pink Floyd because they're very different to Led Zep. One's psychedelic, the other's heavy (or heavier, ay any rate). That's how I see it, anyway. Though I do love Led Zeppelin, I prefer Pink Floyd, but I've been more exposed to the latter. I dig on Floyd's earlier era more, too, and their first few years are often overlooked in judging the band... |
