The reason for this is that the distributors promised 14 prints of the film for 14 locations to show. How many did they manage to get in-country in time? 3. A phrase involving the words "piss up" and "brewery" are floating about in my head. |

Official UK press release:
QUOTE The action blockbuster stormed into the traditionally tough July 4 holiday rising day-on-day to take $29.1m - setting the all-time record for the holiday ahead of SPIDER-MAN 2's $21.9m.
The three-day (July 6-8 ) weekend saw the behemoth add $70.9m. This brings the colossal six-day total (including Monday July 2 previews) to $155.8m - cracking yet another record to become the biggest first week for a non-sequel in history. The result beat 2002's SPIDER-MAN which recorded $151.6m in its launch week. TRANSFORMERS is already fast approaching the $100m mark in international box office, currently standing on $96.7m. Easy question for Transformers fans:
Does Megatron still transform into a gun in the new fillum? I thought that I had heard that they weren't allowing it as it promotes gun culture or something. But I am looking at the images now and I just can't figure out what he changes into... And my quick google doesn't shed any light on the matter. |

I believe he changes into an alien jet fighter thingy, partly because of the promotion of guns thing and partly to avoid the whole changing size thing.

Yeah.
QUOTE (wikipedia) In the film and the video game, Megatron appears as a Cybertronian jet. The apparent explanation for the departure from his gun form is that director Michael Bay does not want to include any sort of size changing in the transformations, which the writers described as "cheating'.

And as has been said, toy gun replicas aren't allowed by US law.
(Although mass-shifting can be silly, although acceptable in cartoons and comics.) |
