QUOTE (mcraigclark @ May 29 2007, 01:21 AM) Just spotted someone on the commentaries list. Jumpin Jack Flash will be everso pleased. The artwork looks great. Just 2 and a bit weeks to go before we can check it out properly for ourselves. Wife Of Rolex |

It's my friend's birthday on 11th June. Easy present.
Great DVD sleeves and screencaps; looks a terrific package all round. Much as I love the first sleeve design, the HMV Exclusive looks the business, so I may plump for that. edit: I can't wait to see 'Hot Funk' and 'The Man Who Would Be Fuzz'. QUOTE (Ade @ May 31 2007, 10:02 AM) It's my birthday too! I had an easy present for myself. Well, not so easy when you factor in the whole shipping from England to Australia business. And of course it will be a slightly belated birthday present by the time it gets here. But soooo worth it |

Okay, Davis DVD confirms the July 31st Region 1 date and has posted the specs for the HD-DVD/DVD combo version:
QUOTE Outtakes Theatrical Trailers The Man Who Would Be Fuzz - Simon and Nick play a scene as Sean Connery and Michael Caine Hot Funk - Montage of clips using the "clean" dialogue from the TV and airline version of the film Danny's Notebook: The Other Side Audio Commentary with Simon Pegg & Edgar Wright Audio Commentary with The Sanford Police Service - Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Jim Broadbent, Rafe Spall, Kevin Eldon & Olivia Colman Audio Commenary with The Sandford Village People - Kenneth Cranham, Timothy Dalton, Paul Freeman & Edward Woodward Audio Commentary with The Real Fuzz - Andy Leafe & Nick Eckland Fuzz-O-Meter - Trivia Track Storyboards Inadmissible: Deleted Scenes with Filmmaker Commentary Conclusive: We Made Hot Fuzz - Making of Documentary Speculative: Video Blogs Art Department Friends & Family Cranks, Cranes & Controlled Chaos Here Come the Fuzz Return to Sandford - A return trip to Wells, the town that posed as Sandford in the film, coinciding with a premiere of the film for the townsfolk Edgar & Simon's Flip Chart - This piece shows them reading a flip chart after the event to see just how much of the chart made it into the film Simon Muggs - Compilation of Simon Pegg hamming it up after each take Sergeant Fisher's Perfect Sunday Photographic: Galleries Hearsay: Plot Holes and Comparisons Special Effects: Before and After - A before and after look at the film's special effects scenes AM Blam: Making Dead Right Dead Right (1993) - An edited version of "Dead Right," one of Edgar's early films and on which Hot Fuzz is very loosely based. Commentaries: (1) Edgar Wright, (2) Simon Pegg and Nick Frost I haven't held this up side by side with the UK specs yet to see precisely what the differences are. Nor have I found any place with just the standard R1 disc's specs. What does a girl have to do to get a straight answer? "I want you to hold it between your knees!" |

Even if I love a film, I lose all respect for it if it comes out without a boatload of xtras, or if they keep releasing 3 or 4 version later just to make a buck. I mean, for what companies charge for DVDs nowadays, you should get a lil bit of bang for your buck. I'm glad I ordered the R2 version, because I can't wait much longer for it. They pulled it from theatres here, and it looks like the dollar theatre option is gonna be a no-go. My mom wants it too, so I guess I'll be buying yet another R1 when it's released. I can't believe all the great stuff you get on this DVD. These guys know how to treat their fans right!!!!

Okay, it sounds as though the R1 specs I posted above are indeed only for the HD-DVD version. The standard R1 specs (from The Film Asylum) are as follows...
QUOTE US DVD - Hot Fuzz.
07 Jun 2007 Universal Studios Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Hot Fuzz for 31st July 2007. Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright's much-anticipated follow-up to Shaun Of The Dead stars Pegg as a hard London copper who's assigned to a new beat: the most boring village in Britain. Nick Frost also returns to star alongside Pegg as a bumbling village cop. Available in separate Widescreen and Full Screen versions, the film is presented in English, French and Spanish DD5.1 EX Surround audio with optional English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles. DVD extras include:- * Deleted Scenes With Filmmaker Commentary For fans who just cant get enough Hot Fuzz, more than 20 minutes of deleted scenes with exclusive filmmaker commentary! * Outtakes. * The Fuzzball Rally: US Tour Piece Follow Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Edgar Wright on their nationwide U.S. press tour. * The Man Who Would Be Fuzz Simon Pegg and Nick Frost hit their marks as Sean Connery and Michael Caine playing out a scene from the movie. * Fuzz-O-Meter Fuzz fanatics can access a special trivia track during the film for a running recount of little-known facts about the film and its stars. * Audio Commentary With Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright. * Hot Funk - Montage of clips using the clean dialogue from the TV and airline version of the film. * Dannys Notebook: The Other Side. * Storyboards. * Theatrical Trailer. * Easter Egg Video Clip. |
