I bought Season 7 of Family Guy on monday. (It's porbably actually season 4 or 5 in Yankland). It is a definite step up from seasons 4 and 5 which I felt lost a lot of what made Family Guy funny, Season 6 was good and 7 is better (and we got a free naked peter with nipple tassles apron).
Though there is a reference to 9/11 in almost every episode which is a bit silly.

Also, it was £17 and theres only 12 episodes. Such a rip the way it's been released over here.

Hey, at least things are better than the VHS days, when what few shows were available in completion often had to be purchased one episode at a time. Yeah, I'm looking at you, Star Trek.

Quite. Series 3 of American Dad! cost me £13 recently for 18 episodes. [/smug]

Yeah, I can't remember who it was who I knew as a kid, who had a bookcase full of Star Trek tapes. And it wasn't even all of one series, either.

Now you can get a full season for £12 that's less than half an inch thick. Truely, we live in the age of kings.

I'd completely forgotten I'd pre-ordered Tinselworm ages ago so it was a nice surprise to get it in the mail yesterday.

The Criterion Collection’s taking 40% off their ENTIRE stock now through November 25 – and as my fellow collectors know, Criterion normally don’t come cheap. Get some while they’re hot:

Picked up "The Ice Storm" for me and "The Naked Prey" as a gift for Xmas.

It's too bad they're out of stock of most, if not all, of their Blu-Ray discs.

Besides, I intend to be done with my frivolous spending for the year. Amazon sure ruined that, though, what with their special Gold Box price (today only!) of $70 for the whole darn series of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I've been meaning to give that show a look, and at that price, I'd be a fool to pass it up. I hope it lives up to its reputation.

My advice; don't judge it too hastily since the first season is somewhat ropey, partly because it was picked up at the last minute as a mid-season replacement.

^ As much as I love Bugs, et al, some of my favourite Warner Bros. cartoons are the ones with the lesser-used characters.
Like the one with the tiny elephant, the ones with the singing frog, the ones with the big beefy dog & the tiny kitten, the ones with the puppy & the mean cat. All awesome. I want to see those on DVD too. cool.gif

Feel the love.

just realised... the one with the big beefy dog & the tiny kitten is actually in the box set. It's called 'Feed the Kitty' ...and is also available as a single disc entitled Looney Tunes - All Stars 1.

Winging their way to me presently will be the c4 adaptation of Sword of Honour avec Daniel Craig, which I have fond memories of and a couple more Christmas films - Home Alone 1&2 and Elf.

And now I am going to stop buying dvd's and buy some bloody Christmas presents.
