Every year Mark Kermode gives out his alternatives to the Oscars. The only rule being that awards go to those not nominated in the actual Oscars.

Hardy, in particular, was really terrifying. I'm tempted to say that A Perfect Getaway had the best original screenplay of a film I saw last year, but I'd have to think on it. It definitely deserves a mention, since it's one of the more intelligent and funny thriller screenplays I've come across in a while. |
