Every year Mark Kermode gives out his alternatives to the Oscars. The only rule being that awards go to those not nominated in the actual Oscars.
So this is the same. Who do you think deserved a nomination/award that didn't even get nominated this year? A quick couple off the top[ of my head Best Supporting Actor: Tom Hollander - In The Loop Best Actor Peter Capaldi - In The Loop Sam Rockwell - Moon |

I forgot about Hardy and Fassbender. Good call. They're probably the two performances that have stuck with me more than any other over the last year. Hardy, in particular, was really terrifying. I'm tempted to say that A Perfect Getaway had the best original screenplay of a film I saw last year, but I'd have to think on it. It definitely deserves a mention, since it's one of the more intelligent and funny thriller screenplays I've come across in a while. |

I'd like to give Timothy Olyphant's Nicholas Cage impersonation an award
It was a very good script, shades of Adaptation (oddly). "We say screenwriters" |

Best Actor Tom Hardy for Bronson Good call there. One out of Leftfield, maybe Jackie Earle Haley for Rorschach in Watchmen (A film that received 0 Nominations, as well, so maybe a best viuals nom for Watchmen too.) I'll also go with Sostie's suggestions of Peter Capaldi and Tom Hollander for Actor and Supporting Actor respectively for In The Loop This post has been edited by Everlong: Mar 12 2010, 02:11 PM |
